Today, I got yelled, screamed, and cursed at by a customer until I was reduced to tears. This was all because I double-checked to make sure she wanted large fries. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, when making a delivery for the restaurant I work for, a customer shoved and yelled at me because she didn't get any fries with her order. She didn't order any, which isn't unusual, considering we're a Chinese takeaway and don't even sell them. FML
Today, my mom was "that" customer at the local drive-thru. She slipped into attention whore mode and bitched the guy out for not giving us extra fries. He said she didn't ask for any, which was true. Instead of apologizing, she swore at him and floored the gas, sending our drinks spilling all over me. FML
The scene
Today, I found a curly hair in my fries at a restaurant. It was disgusting, so I screamed at my waiter. To my surprise, they kicked me out of the restaurant for, "making a scene". They wouldn’t even replace my fries. When did the customer stop being right? FML
Working here sucks
Today, while at work, a customer refused to speak louder, despite me asking her to do it several times. As a result, I took her order incorrectly. The customer then finally decided to raise her voice, but only to yell at me about my poor listening skills. FML
Today, while working at McDonald's, a woman returned to the drive thru because her fries weren't hot enough. She was so angry about coming back that she threw her cold fries at me through the window and told me to "choke on them." FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML
Today, I got yelled at for providing horrible customer service, in a store I don't even work for. FML
That's no excuse
Today, a customer yelled at me because I wouldn’t sell her a boneless chicken bucket with extra fries, beans, coleslaw and Pepsi. I work at Subway. FML
Rude
Today, a drive-thru customer ordered a deal that includes fries and a drink with the sandwich. When I gave it to her, she screamed at me because she "didn't order fries." When I brought up that the deal includes them, she told me I should have "figured it out," called me a "fugly fat slob," and sped off. FML
Today, I was verbally harassed by a customer because I wouldn’t give her special treatment after her meal was incorrect. I offered her a refund and a coupon for a free meal, which she refused before calling me a stupid kid who wouldn’t do anything to help her. FML

As an overweight person I really feel for the customer, too often we get asked questions that hurt us... Last time when I ate my four hamburgers with large fries, some youngster waiter approached me and asked me if I needed a napkin... Why would I need a napkin, being fat means I can't eat properly ? Is that it ?! Is that it??! I mean just cause I had a stain or two on my shirt, and maybe a few drops of ketchup on my chin doesn't mean I need a napkin, this is absolute rudeness ! This is fascism, I am a victim of a system that needs me to eat a lot and makes fun of me for doing this exact thing.

It is their part of job to ask customers whether they want extra large fries/burger/whatever at fast food outlets. Just because someone is really concious about their weight/looks doesn't mean they can just abuse people that serve them. Even if such a worker was rude, then screaming and cursing them out in return should be still out of option - there is a humanitarian way of dealing with such things and it's called 'a complaint'. Taking it out on people who are in such a lame position (it's widely known how underpaid and mistreated they often are) is pointless and won't change anything. OP, if I were you, I would call for your manager/supervisor. No matter where you work, verbal/physical abuse against employees is equally illegal to an abuse towards a customer. Fight for your right to be able to work and still retain your dignity.

Actually, as a fast food worker, I know we are required to ask every customer if they require napkins. Also, we are to upsell wherever possible, so to every customer who doesnt specify what size meal, we are required to ask if that was a large meal. But it looks like, according to the way the fml was worded, that the customer ordered LARGE fries, and OP was repeating the order to double check it was correct.

14 im hoping you are joking, which you must be since you dont look fat in your picture, because asking if you want napkins IS IN NO FREAKIN WAY AT ALL calling you fat, if your that sensitive about your weight that questions that are non-weight related piss you off, then you should really do something about it... but you have to be trolling cause that post made no sense. maybe my sarcasm detector is broken, i think it is... my bad

Jesus Christ, this went WAY over everyone's head.

I have quite a good sense of humour, but this was too far for OP's sake considering they were abused and brought to tears over a similar situation. I saw that it was sarcasm (especially as it didnt match the profile picture) but obviously the downvoters (me included) thought this was a step way too far.

You should have got your manager to deal with the bitch. I am sorry you had to endure her abuse, OP

Time to break out the "Wow, you are a CRAZY bitch" look. An expression can say it all. Just mentally step back and enjoy the show until the crazy train sobs and yells her way out the door.
