Today, I got on an elevator with a woman and her child. I was the first one on. When she stepped on, the capacity alarm went off. As she left she told her daughter that's why fat people shouldn't be allowed in public. I'm 145 lbs. She was twice my size. I got called fat by a hippopotamus. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was on the elevator going up to a meeting, and the elevator was getting more and more crowded as we went up. After about ten people got on, they all agreed that I should get off the elevator because they thought me being on was exceeding the weight limit. FML
Today, my co-workers agreed that I was the one causing the elevator to be over its weight limit. When I protested, saying that I only weigh around 150 pounds, one asked me if that included the weight of my wheelchair. They made me get out. FML
Today, I got on an elevator at the mall, along with a twelve or thirteen-year-old girl talking on her cell. She spent the whole ride telling the person on the other end how hideous I looked and how I look like a pregnant sperm whale. I was too humiliated to even say anything. FML
Today, I was taking the elevator down with a group of people. It stopped on the 2nd floor and I said "What asshole can't take the steps from the 2nd floor?" Then a kid in a wheelchair got on. FML
Excuses
Today, a woman on the train demanded I give up my seat for her, claiming it was for people with disabilities. Tired from a long day at work, and seeing she had nothing wrong with her, I asked what her disability was. Apparently, obesity is one. FML
Supportive
Today, I took the kids to the pool. I'm short and 20lbs overweight but they talked me into it and I put on a swimsuit for the first time in 10 years. As soon as we got there, a girl my height but a good 150lbs heavier said, "It's so nice to see another big girl in a two-piece!" FML
If I fits, I sits
Today, my friend and I went to the park. I bet my friend I could fit into the swing that was sized for toddlers. I managed to fit in, but I couldn't get out. My friend had to call 911 to get me out. When they finally did, the fireman told me that fat ladies shouldn't try stuff like that. FML
With all due respect
Today, at work, an obese woman insisted she took a size 5 shoe, despite me measuring her at a size 11. Then when the 5 I politely fetched for her didn’t come close to fitting, she told the manager I was fatshaming her. Her feet were ham joints below cankles as thick as my thigh. She stank too. FML
I'm a klutz
Today, I saw a woman struggling to hold the elevator. Trying to be helpful, I jumped forward and pressed the “close doors” button, thinking it was “open doors.” The doors shut right in her face. I had to awkwardly ride up ten floors in silence with three witnesses. FML
Today, while at work, a rather large woman came in and ordered a cheeseburger. When asking if she would like to supersize it, she took her purse, smacked me, and told me she wasn't fat, and how rude I was for calling her supersized. I was just doing my job. FML

#227 I can think of a few words to describe you. "Stupid" and "ignorant" come to mind. And any variations on those words. 145lbs, depending on a person's height, can be quite slim. Like if you're, oh I don't know, 5'10", 145lbs is quite slim. You're weight "120lbs" (which I highly suspect you're lying about by at least 10lbs) is completely unrelated, no one cares how much you weigh. So you can shove your stupid comment up your ignorant ass and gtfo. kkkkkkaaaaaaayyy thanks :) And try organic? Honey, organic is way too expensive and its not the answer to everything. Spend more time in school, valley girl.

This comment would have made a nice retort if you had used the correct form of the word "your."

I just hate it when fat people call u fat. it just doesn't make sense are they retarded or do they not own a mirror. what I hate even more are really skinny people grab some skin on their stomachs going I need to lose weight. that really pisses me off.

#227 Don't be rude. I'm 95lbsk, how would you like it if I implied that you were fat?
Ihatemyfknfamily 5
Agreed. Height and build can greatly affect the ideal weight for a person. I'm 5'2" with a somewhat stocky build (bone structure wise) and am generally built in a more compact fashion. I weigh about 149 lbs. I have a little bit of pudge to my stomach, particularly if I slouch, but my doctor has told me I'm at an excellent weight for my height and build, and shouldn't lose more than twenty pounds if I do decide to try and lose weight, or else I'll end up dangerously underweight. Your height does play a factor, but it's not the only deciding factor on what your ideal weight is. That woman was either talking about herself, which is a very sad display of low self-esteem, or she's a bitch. Either way, it's no skin off your back and you should just ignore it.

You're=you are your shows possession, you are wrong

If I were OP, I'd say, "I would slap you, but that would be animal abuse."
spunkylady 24
That is correct "you're" = you are, your is possessive...

Unless you are a short person like me; I wouldn't be proud of being a malnourished freak if I were you. Try food, hun.

To those of you trying to prove #235 wrong, she was talking about the second time #228 used "you're" when he said "you're weight is..." In which case the writer was incorrect. The first use was correct, the second wasn't.

are you actually retarded? and "underlight?" seriously?

#228 YES. THANK YOU. That girls comment made me disgusted to be from Northern California

I would so laugh myself to death is the woman's daughter said "Then why are you in public mommy?" Or something along those lines!

She was so jealous! Damn, what a bitch.

Agreed #2. OP after she said that, you shouldve told the little child "You should listen to your mommy. Now, when you go out, lock Mommy in the closet at home and go out with Daddy."

i call shenanigans! elevators are designed to hold massive amounts of weight, far exceeding the amount of people that can fit in one. Unless somehow there's a 10000lb weight attached to it the capacity alarm shouldn't go off.
radicalxxrachel 0
I call bullshit on your logic. Ever get into a service elevator or an elevator in an apartment building? Lower capacity. GOOD JOB.
usavageiv 0
The service weight of most elevators is 2000lb - 2500lb. If the alarm went off I think someone is lying about his weight. LMAO

masmalaque 21
you might want to go see the world a bit before commenting as an expert just because once in your life you saw an elevator.. FYI there are many types and sizes of elevators.. and some apartment buildings with only one apartment per floor don't need a huge capacity..
funplex 0
Wahahahahahaha. I agree with #3.

this is fake...what elevator would have a capacity alarm for 3 people......
420hiadventurer 0
Maybe it was actually the bitch alarm that went off when she got on.
cantthinkofshit 5
Maybe you're like shallow Hal? Except you think your skinny and other people are fat? That would blow

Not to mention the fact that she could have just as easily been speaking about herself or her child...
whocares2112 6
why would she call herself or her daughter fat?
hellobeautiful5 2
To make a painfully embarrassing moment less painful for her. Making fun of yourself makes situations less awkward.
kk_fml 0
I agree with #5. Must have been a shitty old elevator for 3 people- one of them weighing only 145- to set off the capacity alarm.
