Today, I got a text from a guy I hooked up with. I'm not really interested in him, so I rushed out of his house last night. He was letting me know I left my wallet at his house, and if I want it, I'll have to let him take me to dinner. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while walking down the street, a cute guy approached me. We ended up having some drinks then heading back to his place and hooked up. Afterwards, I used the bathroom, and when I came out, he was going through his wallet and asked me how much he owed me. FML
Today, I went on a date with a guy, who decided to rudely text message his friend the whole time. When I got home, I realized he'd been texting the girl he was going to hookup with after our date; she happens to be my roommate. FML
Today, I went to dinner with an amazing guy. At the end he said he had to go to the washroom. 15 min later he was still MIA, so I figured he'd ditched me with the bill. I paid and left. 10 min later he texted me, asking where I was. Turns out he hadn't ditched me. He was having "stomach issues." FML
Ghost
Today, I texted the guy I went out with last night. He'd told me he’d text me when he got home, but he never did. Cracking a joke, I asked him if he was homeless or something, since he broke his word. He replied, “No, I’m just not that into you. Have a nice life.” FML
Today, I got a chance to have dinner and a movie with a girl I've liked for a while. I ran late, so in a hurry to make the movie, and trying to be smooth for her, I told the waiter I'd "take care of him" if he made it fast. He did. When he brought the check, I realized I had forgotten my wallet. FML
Today, I planned to go on a date with a man I met online. He came to my apartment to pick me up, and I told him I'd be right out as I grabbed my purse. When I got outside, he was gone. FML
Caught
Today, I went on a date with a guy. I lost interest in him quick, so I excused myself to go to the bathroom, hoping to make a run for the hills. As soon as I reached the front door, our server yells out, "I hope you’re not thinking about dining and dashing!" FML
Quickie
Today, the guy that I've recently became close to texted me, wanting to hook up. He's very cute and I was definitely interested, so I agreed. The drive to his house lasted longer than the actual sex. He lives less than five minutes away. FML
Today, after weeks of being hounded to go out on a date with this guy, I finally found the time and invited him over, fully intending to hook up. He stood me up. FML
Today, I was on a dinner date with a guy I really like. I guess I was on my phone too much because halfway through the date he sent me a text saying how much my half of the bill would be. FML

Not saying he's right or wrong for using her wallet as an excuse to go on a date with her, but she used him. She wasn't interested in him, so instead she used him for sex and probably toyed with his emotions, which is a very wrong thing to do.

That doesn't sound like an FML for me. I think you're just a drama queen, no offends.
MzZombicidal 36
How's this not an FML? She had a one-night stand. This is 2015. It happens. That dude is literally holding her wallet ransom for a date. While a date is pretty tame, it's still not right. You should never pressure someone into doing something with you like that. That's ****** up. She doesn't want to see him and she shouldn't have to go on a pity-date to get her property back.
oy21vey 11
Few things. First, most of you commenters suck. She is not morally corrupt for having a one night stand. Two, don't go on a date with him. Inform him that if he doesn't return your wallet you will report it missing and send the police after him. Guys. Don't try and blackmail women into going on a date with you. That's super creepy and unattractive. Women don't owe you a date after they sleep with you any more than they owe you sex after you buy them dinner. Try to be less gross, please. Ew.
chosha_fml 27
In fairness, the guy may not have been aware that he wasn't interested when he said that. He might have actually thought it was cute way to ask her to dinner.
oy21vey 11
Yeah. But it's not a cute way to ask her out. It's gross. And creepy.
MrConcise 35
I bet the guy would tell the situation differently. "I'll give you your wallet back (unconditionally), but as a token of appreciation, why don't you let me take you out?"
oy21vey 11
OP specifically states that he said she HAS to let him take her out to dinner. That isn't cool. It's creepy. This isn't really something up for discussion. She doesn't have to do anything because that insinuates that she owes him. Which she doesn't. He, on the other hand, has a legal obligation to give her her wallet back.
BigxXxDeal 14
yes op said that... glad we agree but there are 3 sides to every story... sadly we will never know his side or the truth.
leogachi 15
If she were interested in him, she probably wouldn't have even thought it was creepy. Let's be honest, whether or not you think a person's actions are creepy is directly linked to how attractive and interesting you think they are.
MrConcise 35
#65 - Example, once when I found out I had been dating a girl who stalked me prior to our relationship, I was like, "D'awwwwwwwww". THAT IS NOT A COMMON REACTION, but I liked her a lot, so it was cute in my eyes. Even though anybody else would've called her a creep.
iwadasn 33
36, he didn't steal her wallet. She left it at his house. Returning it would be the right thing to do, but he has no legal obligation to do so.
SuperMew 22
It depends on location. If he found it, he could just drop it off with the police and be done with it. He does have to return it, but he doesn't have to call her up and say he found it.
JKPwnage 27
Then girls, don't sleep with someone and then expect him to know you're not interested.
gracehi 33
I hate to be the one to say this, because I typically loathe the person who does, but I can't help but feel that if the gender roles were reversed, everyone would feel very differently about the situation. Well, maybe not everyone, because rather than a few dissenters, there would be a unanimous "You jerk! How dare you just use her for sex like that and think you can cast her aside so casually like she's just some sort of discardable sex object???" sentiment. I think because OP's a lady, the "feminist" crowd is getting all indignant that a woman is being criticized for being "sexually independent."
MrConcise 35
How about we're all just scumbags if we sleep with people without making it clear that it's a one-night stand? Men and women.
gracehi 33
Although now that I've really looked at it, I don't see a gender specification for the OP. It's just a generic "anonymous." Maybe OP is actually a man? Who knows. Hm. I wonder if that changes things for anybody.

#14, the only 2 things that you got right was that she's not morally corrupt for having a one night stand and that she's not obligated to go out with him so I'll point out where you went wrong - calling the police because you left something at someones house (pretty sure they have real problems to deal with) - telling the police it's missing when you know exactly where it is (again with the real problems!) -this is clearly not a case of legitimate blackmail, it's a funny way of asking her on a date - FFS she gave him her phone number! How is he supposed to know that it was just a one night stand and that he shouldn't ask her out to dinner if she gave him a way to contact her again??!! - asking a woman out to dinner after you had sex with her is not creepy - she left it at his house, he has ZERO legal obligations to return it, he can throw it in the trash if he wants
fedoraguy13 11
Thank you for that. Seriously wtf is up with all these comments
Mortelle 6
This is one of the few sensible comments in this thread.
Ichiya 29
How do we know she gave him her number? He could have get it from her phone while she went to the bathroom or used her ID to search online for the number. Even called the police and asked for the info so he could return it.
GrapeJuice67 17
I would be outraged either way, this is not cool to do to a person. If I were OP, I would threaten to report them for theft if they failed to return it.
meleelastyles 10
Oh, whoops, I guess the OP got a guy to like her rather than just tap her.
Pyneapple 19
Tell him the ******* truth. Sure he shouldn't "blackmail" you like that but that's what you get for bailing on him.
Yarrachel 16
I don't think op was leading him on. I suspect that he already knew she wasn't interested in him, which is why he's holding her wallet hostage until she goes out with him. If he really thought she liked him, he would have given back the wallet and offered to take her out.
Eloxia 7
Comment moderated for rule-breaking.
Hooking up with someone you're not interested in is leading someone on.
DoomedGemini 38
Not if both parties knew. He could have said "hey at least I'm getting something" and then saw this as a way to force her to date him. Op would be a bitch for using him but he's ****** up for doing this.
annalily5 28
A hook up is a hook up. You shouldn't assume it's anything more unless you and your partner specifically specified it was.
MzZombicidal 36
Yes, how bitchy for her to not want to see the guy but being forced to do so to get her material object back, which, I'm assuming, has her license, cards and money. Wow. Let the girl hit it and quit it without calling her a bitch. Damn.
chosha_fml 27
I wonder if there'd be so many judgmental comments if OP was a guy talking about a one night stand.
JKPwnage 27
I bet there would be. I hear stories all the time of guys sleeping with girls and then leaving them, sometimes pregnant. Don't "hump 'em and dump 'em," regardless of your gender.
gracehi 33
Funny you say that. I was actually just replying to an above comment by explaining how I think there would be even MORE criticism if OP were a man and the other person a woman.
Earl_KarmasBitch 36
Absolutely. If this was a guy telling this story so many people would be ripping on him for leading the poor girl on and then getting the hell out afterwards. As far as I'm concerned the OP didn't do anything wrong by having a one night stand with a guy she wasn't that interested in as long as she didn't lead him on in any way. Lots of guy would be quite happy to have a girl say that they were only interested in a night of sex. Might even find it a turn on. So there's really no excuse for leading a guy on in that way.
Nekro13 8
I don't know where you and people like #119 are getting this idea, this FML has more than 10,000 more YDIs than FYLs and the comments vastly reflect that. Clearly most people think OP is a heartless floozy who needs to give this poor "nice guy" a chance.
Yarrachel 16
Choosing not to commit a crime doesn't make somebody a nice person. If he doesn't return the wallet he is committing a crime anyway, so he can't even manage that!
chosha_fml 27
OP, go to dinner, pay your half, thank him very much for returning you wallet and tell him clearly but politely that you don't want to date him.
Ichiya 29
Or call the police and explain that a guy you had a one night stand with is holding your property hostage unless you date him.
