Today, I tried to write a bad review for the fast-food place at which I work part-time. My username made me anonymous, but I forgot to change my profile picture. Now my manager and coworkers won't even speak to me. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Monolith
Today, I accidentally posted an extensive, negative review of the gynecologist I visited earlier this week. I messed up and posted it from my work's customer service email, so now it looks like the large, well-known company I work for had a poor gynecological experience. FML
Gaslighting
Today, my promotion at work was revoked and I was written up, all because some customer decided to write a negative review about me on Google. Apparently, I was “rude” to her and “rolled my eyes at her” and called her stupid. I never met this woman a day in my life, and they won’t believe me. FML
Don't feed the trolls
Today, after 3 months of successful business at my restaurant, sales are down the shitter. Why? Because some no-life troll started posting loads of bad reviews online. He uses different names, but nothing in the reviews has ever happened. We can't get the reviews taken down. FML
HR FML
Today, HR sent a review email to me asking me to anonymously tell them about my boss. I decided to use this opportunity to tell them what a dick he was. I printed off the review, filled it out, then scanned and emailed it to myself. Or so I thought. Turns out I'd sent the review to my boss. FML
Today, I got a bad review on my work's Facebook page. The girl said I was very rude and I should never work with the public. I was trying to flirt with her. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I was getting lunch at a fast food restaurant. My boss was in front of me, and in order to get on his good side I offered to pay. Instead, I got fired because I guess my boss assumed I was making fun of his salary, which I knew nothing about. FML
Private everything, always!
Today, I received an e-mail telling me the job offer I got last week was rescinded. Apparently, the memes I share on my Instagram page are "tasteless" and don’t fit the company’s values. I forgot my profile is public. FML
Jeopardy
Today, I took an embarrassing picture of myself in my work uniform, acting goofy and such, to send to my friends but I accidentally sent it to my manager. It was a very jeopardizing pose. I’m supposed to start tomorrow. FML
Today, at work, we had an extremely rude customer who started cussing at us, and my coworker started cussing back. I jumped on the register to quickly bring down the line, and apologized to everyone for the scene. A secret shopper was in the line and claimed that I was rude. I got written up. FML
Today, I wrote a bad review for a pizza place after their pizza gave me food poisoning. Now, they won't stop calling me, begging me to take my review down in exchange for free pizza. I have tried to tell them that I wouldn't eat their pizza again even if I got paid to do so, but they won't listen. FML

Question: why would you want to write a bad review for the place you work at?

If you have a problem with where you work, you should have the balls to bring it up with your coworkers. YDI

I'm going to play devil's advocate here. Yes, it was a bit low of the OP to go behind his coworker's backs and write a review, but at the same time it could also be a good thing. Whistleblowers bring attention to dangerous business practices to the public, and/or shed some light on what actually happens behind the scenes.

Maybe the place really did stink and op's boss sucked, but op couldn't find another job.

I'll tell you right now, most restaurants, and I'm giving a few the benefit of the doubt, have awful practices. Somethings you wont mind, like sticking a finger in the food, sucking it off, adding a bit of seasoning and repeat with the same finger. Somethings such as not washing their hands at all. Even after using the toilet. Others such as a mouldy/rusty kitchen.

At my fast food job it's not uncommon to work 7 hours without a break, twice I've worked 8 without a break and a coworker worked 9. Also we have high schoolers that sometimes work until after 11 or midnight on school nights.

Why would you write a bad review if you work there? I think it's time to quit.
kylieh72 25
If you don't like it there then just quit.

Not everyone is able to just quit their job, even if their job sucks.

There is no shortage of part-time, entry level positions available. Most of which do not pay the bills which indicates the op is not independent and doesn't necessarily need the job.

Why would you work at a place you would give a bad review to?

It may be the only place they can get hired at. Some money is better than no money.
laden_swallow09 35
That doesn't explain the logic behind writing a negative review in the first place.

Bad review= less customers= less tips= no money= homeless= depression= suicide

OP, staying in a job that makes you miserable may as well be called masochism. You clearly sound like you don't like the place and don't enjoy working there, which is pretty much an alarm bell for 'time to get a new job'. Switch jobs, and you will likely find yourself happier. You don't deserve to be miserable because of a bad workplace.
