Today, I got a phone call to say my workplace was closed due to extreme weather conditions. Looking forward to my day off, I then realised the boiler was broken and my house has no heating despite there being a foot of snow outside. I'm spending the day in bed, wearing all my clothes. FML

Today, I got snowed in. At work. FML
Today, my boiler packed up on me just as the weather has turned cold, with no money to have it fixed. Hello to a week of freezing cold showers. FML
Today, my boss texted me to say the office was closed because of the snow. I begged him to let me go in anyway because I had nothing to do all day. I have no life, friends or hobbies. FML
Today, I woke up to a quite frigid room, which wasn't out of the ordinary since my building's heat is broken. But I realized that the extra cold I was feeling was due to the snow piled up on my bed. It had snowed 20 inches last night. My mom had apparently opened my window. FML
Today, after repairing the toilet, the light, the shower, the cooker and the heater in the flat I've just moved into, my boiler dies. It's mid December, about 1 degree outside. FML
Today, I was very cold and tired, so I took a shower to warm up and went to bed. The minute I hopped into bed, it collapsed and broke. I have spent half-an-hour rearranging furniture to get the mattress on to the floor. Now I'm cold again. FML
Today, the lack of heating in my room has gotten to the point where I have to cuddle my clothes for the next day at night so they're not freezing when I wake up. FML
Today, I finally got my wish of having snow on my birthday. Excited, I failed to realise this meant that no one could come to my party, including myself as we were all snowed out of town. What did I spend my 18th doing? Tidying our house. FML
Today, after getting up at 6 a.m., fighting with the dogs to wipe their paws off from the snow, and having to wait for a moving truck to move so I could get to work by 8, I got a call from my boss saying we were closed due to weather. It was 8:15. I was already there. FML
Today, like always, my parents are such tightwads that they refused to turn the heating system on, despite the ball-freezing temperatures. I was so cold, I had to resort to warming my hands up over the toaster. FML

this is an emergency. If op doesn't fix the boiler soon, the water pipes will freeze and split open. Then when the weather thaws the apartment will flood.

I agree. I'm jealous; the weather here sucks. If you have friends that are also home, go hang out with them. Get some shopping done while the boiler is being repaired. You did phone for repairs, right?

That's pretty damn cold. It snowed for the first time here in MI yesterday. I can deal with the cold (It isn't that bad when it's only in in the 30s-20s), but it's the wind chill I can't stand. A negative wind chill while it's snowing and you're walking to class is not fun.

I live in Norder Oslo. That's in Norway. It gets below freezing here (I don't know the American metric system). There's also only four hours of sunlight during the vinter.

go buy a space heater? my bathroom is always freezing so a half hour before I need to go in there I turn on my little heater and shut the door. nice n toasty when I go take my shower. :)
