Today, I found out the "free" protein bars at my gym are actually for a fundraiser for children's cancer. I've been taking one every day for the past two weeks. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Healthy appetite
Today, in an effort to be more healthy, I bought a pack of protein bars as a substitute for snacks. I ate all 5 of them in one sitting. FML
Keep the change
Today, a group of Girl Scouts came to my door selling chocolate bars. I bought two bars and smiled as they left, thinking I'd done a good deed. When the door closed, I heard one of the girls say, "Told you, the fat bitches always wanna buy from us." FML
Today, I determined that the only reason I still have a membership to my gym is that the special gummy bears they have in the vending machines are amazing. FML
Today, I got roped into a volunteering thing at the last minute. I was waiting outside with all these kids who looked hungry. Feeling bad, I passed around crisps and cookies. Turns out we were at a convention to promote healthy eating in malnourished children. FML
We're like family!
Today, I discovered that "team building exercise" really means free labor with no snacks. FML
Close shave
Today, I grabbed a box of my favorite granola bars, the only flavor the brand makes without nuts, which I'm severely allergic to. A visit to the ER after my throat closed up told me that I'd missed the notice on the shelf, warning that they're now making them with peanuts. FML
Today, I decided to start working out because my friends said I'm scrawny and weak. I bought an expensive giant container of protein powder to take before during work outs. I wasn't strong enough to open the lid. FML
Overdoing it
Today, I had 16 freakin' protein bars as a meal, the only meal of the day, as well as 5 apples after. I'm feeling like Yellowstone erupting in my guts right now. It hurts as fuck. FML
Today, I found out that when I thought the bullying had finally stopped, the bullies had actually been sponsored to be nice for charity. FML
Go fund this
Today, I found out the fund-raiser my uncle ran to raise money for his cancer treatment was all a sham, that he doesn't even have cancer, and that the money was to fund a coke habit nobody knew he even had. FML

it was an accident. just make a favorable donate to their cause. it would terrible if you didn't and left them thinking the bars were stolen

I think the issue might be that the OP can't or doesn't want to pay for them. 14 bar might get pricey depending on how much each costs.

shouldn't have just taken them then. I'd never assume something was free, seems a strange assumption to make, especially as there'll have been a donation box or something similar

I don't mind paying for them at all! I donated $50 (suggested donation was $2/bar). I just felt like a dick and a dumbass for thinking they were free. I explained it better in my other comment but they weren't labeled, apparently it's an annual fundraiser everyone knows about and it's the first one they've held since I joined.

Maybe after hearing about the shitheads who steal their fundraising candy, they'll be ok with checking out early.

just make a donation, no harm no foul

I'm going to assume each bar is between $1-$5, either you owe $14 or you owe $70
