Today, I found out that my younger sister had maxed out all three of my credit cards when I tried all three of the cards, and realized that I didn't have $5.29 to buy tampons and Advil. FML

Today, my sister stole my credit card, used it to rack up a small debt, then told my mom she will pay me back in the future one day, “happily”. But not right now because she has better things to spend her money on. FML
Today, I found out my mom took around $2,500 from my savings account to pay off my sister's college tuition. She recently flunked out of her studies and won't be returning to college anyway. FML
Today, I found out my credit card was maxed out to the penny, all thanks to purchases made on an online wine store. Apparently my mother was thirsty enough to steal from her own son. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Today, I discovered my mom has been using my credit card to buy everyone's Christmas presents. FML
Today, my mother asked me if she could borrow $200. Being the lovely daughter I am, I gave her my bank card to withdraw it herself. She gambled it away and maxed my bank account out. I had $1500 saved. FML
Today, my daughter, whom I consigned a credit card for, told me she was in a bit of financial trouble. It turns out that she was trying to pay off her credit card with the same credit card her bill was for, and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. FML
Today, my sisters and I pitched together nearly $500 to send my mom to the spa for Mother's Day. We put the printed sheet with her info into a little box with our card on top. When she opened it, she freaked out and started hugging my dad. Turns out he switched the cards and took all the credit. FML
Today, I went to my university bookstore and tried to use my debit card to pay, but got the "Insufficient Funds" notification. I was buying a single postage stamp, which costs 57 cents. FML
Today, I woke up and found a trail of £5 notes in my bedroom, which led all the way downstairs and into the bathroom. I got to the last one, where I was then kicked in the balls from behind. It was my sister. She said it was the money she'd borrowed from me. I was left in my underwear writhing in pain. FML

Maybe you should depend on something other than credit cards. Like a debit card. That has your own, real money on it. But also you can report it to your credit card company, as unauthorized transactions. There is a bright side to credit cards. If you have the cash to back them up.

yea you should really have something as valuable as a credit card in a semi safe place. I have an emergency one just incase but I just use cash and debit. especially for small purchases. oh and some places done even ask you to sign for the card. I know target doesn't require a signature if the purchase is under 50$.

most places don't ask, as long as you know the pin...so it's kinda op's fault for telling her sis her pin to all three cards to begin with.

Not always. Sometimes just a signature. Tho now they are using pin numbers more to cut down on forgeries.

I thought pin numbers were only for debit cards though. Whenever I use my card for debit, I'm required to use a PIN. If I use it for credit, I have to show ID. Hmm... Either way, if she maxed out three cards, I would think they were very high priced purchases. I certainly would grow suspicious and demand to see some ID.

credit cards don't have pin numbers FYI. as long as there is a signature on the back most places won't ask for ID

In the US, unless you use a PIN, the cashier is supposed to compare your signature to the one on the card. If the card isn't signed, the cashier is supposed to ask for ID. However, with so many places asking you to run your own cards nowadays, fraud is easier than ever. OP should be able to file this as fraud with the card companies to get the balances restored.

when I use my mom's card (with permission!!), I get asked for my ID all the time. our names are completely different but just similar enough that they usually give me the benefit of the doubt. I've only been denied once and that was out of town. oh and we sign our names the same way so my ID signature resembles the one on her card too. =P
