Today, my daughter, whom I consigned a credit card for, told me she was in a bit of financial trouble. It turns out that she was trying to pay off her credit card with the same credit card her bill was for, and couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. FML

Today, I learned that my daughter pocketed the money I'd paid so she could go to college. FML
Today, I realised I’d raised an idiot when my daughter confidently told me she discovered an infinite money glitch by just using one of her credit cards to pay off her other credit card, then swapping them over every month. This is why she’s 28 and still living in her childhood bedroom. FML
Today, my sister stole my credit card, used it to rack up a small debt, then told my mom she will pay me back in the future one day, “happily”. But not right now because she has better things to spend her money on. FML
Today, my mother asked me if she could borrow $200. Being the lovely daughter I am, I gave her my bank card to withdraw it herself. She gambled it away and maxed my bank account out. I had $1500 saved. FML
Today, I realized while paying bills on my phone I fat-fingered which credit card I was paying and sent 299 to a paid-off card instead of 200 to another one. Now I'm going to have overdraft fees too. FML
Today, I found out that my younger sister had maxed out all three of my credit cards when I tried all three of the cards, and realized that I didn't have $5.29 to buy tampons and Advil. FML
Today, I found out that my girlfriend has been paying her half of the rent by taking my ATM card and getting money from my account. FML
Today, I discovered my mom has been using my credit card to buy everyone's Christmas presents. FML
Today, I found some charges on my credit card for two round trip tickets to Las Vegas. Turns out my daughter and her unemployed stoner boyfriend stole my credit card and flew to Vegas over the weekend to get married. I paid for my daughter's elopement. FML
Today, I was at the gas station with my grandma. After I slid her card and began to pump, I convinced her that it was a lot easier and more convenient to pay at the pump with your credit card instead of paying inside. She yelled as I realized I went $20 over what she had to spend. FML

My parents learned from my older siblings never to co-sign anything again for them. I have to say that I'm glad she was *trying* to pay it back. It's a mistake. She'll learn.

How old is your daughter? Because that's a bit concerning. And I don't think I would let anyone who has little to no knowledge use my credit card OP. You'll receive bad credit if debt is not paid off. :/

I work at a financial institution. People make this mistake all the time! Mistake meaning they put in the account number as the payment account too. Then call us asking why we charged their card the same day it was paid lol. Or submit payments with the paying account number in both spots. Goes both ways. All ages too.

The only way I see this happening is if people don't read anything before putting in the numbers. Otherwise it seems impossible to not understand that it should never be the same number in both fields.

Time to take back the credit card. The only te people should be allowed to use a credit card is when they understand how it works. Also, they should be in a position to pay off their credit ideally in the no interest period. A lot of people have fallen into a debt hole they dug up with their credit cards. It is so sad because it is so avoidable.
