Today, I forgot my headphones at home. When I got to work I found out that today was also the day the band next door had decided to practice their only song for 8 hours. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Gym culture
Today, I went to the gym. Once in the changing room, I realized I'd left my headphones at home. I had to work out without any music, so I spent the next 90 minutes being reminded how loud and obnoxious some gym-goers can be. FML
He's the boss
Today, I lost my earbuds on the subway to work, so I had to listen to my boss's terrible music all day. FML
"If I could turn back time…"
Today, I came into work early to clean equipment, with my headphones on, singing to myself. I lost track of time, and wound up with the entire office watching me belt tunes out. FML
Definitely done that
Today, at work, I put my earphones in to listen to some music. An hour later, I realised I never pressed play. FML
Use your head
Today, I was walking home, when I realized I didn't have my phone on me. After retracing my steps, I realized that I'd been listening to music from my phone the entire time. FML
Today, I have a cold, and was stuck sleeping in bed. My roommate decided to wake me up by sticking headphones in my ears and playing heavy metal on full volume. This is the third time this week. FML
Patience
Today, I had to study for an important test but I could barely focus because my roommate had his music blasting at full volume. Since we get along well, I decided to put up with it. I just found out he forgot to turn it off and left over 6 hours ago. FML
What gauge strings are you using??
Today, I forgot to tune my guitar pre-performance. Surprising, because it was in tune when I frantically did it by ear backstage. Too bad two of the six strings snapped, smacking the drummer in the face. FML
Today, I had a nasty headache so I tried to take a nap. Unfortunately, my college had a homecoming parade a block away from where I live. I never knew our marching band sounded that awful. FML
Today, I woke up with a skull-splitting headache. I braved the wind and freezing temperatures to get to work. Today is also the day my boss thought it would be cute to let the elementary school band play at our office. FML

Buy a cheap pair of earbuds to keep at work in case this happens... I started doing that after forgetting mine during loud construction.

Full time jobs are usually 9am-5pm...so it would make sense that he had an eight hour shift.

Unless they work for Home Depot like I do, and even our full time employees have 4 hour shifts occasionally.

Definitely this. Just run to a convenience store on your break?

Why do you need earphones? Blast your music on your speakers to give em a taste of their own medicine.

I don't think most jobs let employees blast their speakers with their own music at work

Not to mention that after eight hours, the song will be stuck in your head for the next eight days

The first sentence was enough.

Practice makes perfect but 8hrs of that Noise is beyond excessive, hope it was at least a good song

Actually, as a violinist, I can say eight hours of rehearsal is necessary sometimes if the group is having trouble with the piece. Though I admire their dedication, they should have sound proofed their rehearsal area with foam. It would've preserved quality, cut reverb, and been less of a nuisance to neighbors.

Maybe ask a coworker who's leaving if you can borrow some or on your lunch break you can run to a gas station or somewhere and buy a cheap pair just to keep there. And who knows maybe they'll surprise you and it'll be a good song or they'll start writing a new one. At worst be grateful it's only one shift! Best of luck!
