Today, I finally thought that my mother was okay with me being a lesbian. Then, over dinner, she turns to me and says, "So, do you still think you like girls, or are you going to start being normal again?" FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my mom called me into the living room to say that she had something important to tell me. She then explained how she and my dad had "talked things over" and wanted me to know that they accept me and love me no matter what. Apparently my mom thinks I'm lesbian. I'm not. FML
Coming out
Today, I told my mom that I’m a lesbian. She was fine with it, supported me 100%, and it was a huge relief, until she followed up with, “Until you find a husband, then you’ll obviously have to stop all that.” The reason I even told her is because my girlfriend just proposed to me, and we’re engaged. FML
Uh oh
Today, after having a long talk with my mother about LGBT rights, she told me that she was totally open. I felt completely relieved, being gay myself. Seconds later, she said, "But not for you. I want you to find me a nice girl that can give me lots of grandkids." FML
Denial
Today, at 18, I finally told my mom I was gay. She spent the rest of the day bringing up my "future wife" at every possible chance she had. FML
Casual
Today, my mother urged me to "get over this lesbian thing and give me some grandkids." In front of my girlfriend of eleven months. FML
Keeping up
Today, I found out that my mother has been telling everybody that I’m a lesbian, because both of her best friends have at least one gay child each, and she was feeling left out. This explains why people have been treating me differently the last few weeks. FML
Today, I finally worked up the courage to tell my mom that I'm gay. She sympathetically patted my back and told me I don't need to make up excuses for me being so unattractive to women. FML
Today, my mom tried to convince my dad that I was a lesbian. Why? Because she was bored. FML
Today, my mum decided that me being bisexual meant that I was "deciding whether or not to be a lesbian" because supposedly, no man will have me. Thanks mum. FML
Follow the lifescript
Today, I came out to my parents as lesbian. Surprisingly, they were OK with it… just as long as I still marry a dude, give them grandbabies, and keep the whole lesbian thing a deep, dark, shameful secret that we never talk about again. FML

oh my god I know how you feel. I came out to my mom recently and got me kicked out of the house so I live with my grandparents. she called me the other day and was like "so have you changed your mind yet? " and I said "sorry mom I'm with my girlfriend. I'll call you later". Just hang in there. :) you got this.

I don't feel sorry for you, because being gay is a choice. You choose to fall outside of the biological norm intended for humans, sucks to be you. People don't have to accept you for it, they aren't obligated to. Your parents technically aren't obligated to love you either. The notion that anyones parents are obligated to do anything other than raise them to be contributing members to society is idiotic. And since you're gay, and thus won't reproduce, you certainly aren't a contributing member to society. Prancing around in gay pride parades and parroting your sexual preference to the online masses hoping for sympathy is stupid. Get over yourself. Being a homosexual is a personal preference, but stop acting like people have to accept you or should treat you the same as if its some sort of moral obligation they have. In fact, just as you can be gay, people can decide not to like you for it. If that's a problem, you're a hypocrite.

dumbfuck... who gives a **** if being gay is a choice or not? most countries believe in free choice secondly... dont start talking about human norms, human beings are ****** up and definately not normal even as a race as a whole.. then u wanna delve into psychoanalysis? next... just a little fyi so that you dont end up having kids... as per US and Canadian child safety laws, A child's home must be a safe, caring, and nurturing environment... (what u described only fits into nurturing) and another lil fyi, you can go to jail for telling your kid u ******* hate them, that they're scum and going to hell, retarded, have a disease, iunno that normal hetero vs gay / parents vs kid bullshit i hear alotta parents spew and lastly, just to prove you're the dumbshit i called u out to be... being gay and speaking out against people who physically and mentally bash/torture gays doesnt make u a ******* hypocrite being gay and speaking out against gays would make u a hypocrite anyways just for the record i dont give a shit about gay rights or wtvs, i can get married to whoever the hell i want w/ all the benefits included since that happens to be only females. but im not about to beat some guy with a bat cuz he CHOOSE or was MORE ATTRACTED to the Happy Meal than the Big Mac... you catch my drift? you gonna call someone a retard and "outside human norms" cuz he wants honey on his chicken mcnuggets not ketchup? im sure the norm is ketchup or bbq or wtvs

part of me hopes you have a kid that is gay or lesbian or even bi, just so that you would understand parents love for their child. another part of me wishes that you never have a child because no matter what it would suck to be them. lol i love the mcdonalds big mac comparison!!!

There's a slight difference between not-being-okay and just being ignorant.

That's just rude. Bisexual people are awesome. If I cared enough I would go make some gay friends. I just don't want them to take it the wrong way, because I'm straight.

To tell you the truth, I have yet to see anything great come out of being what society dubs "normal". Most "normal" people are idiotic, self-righteous, hypocrites. Screw what she thinks is "normal". High five for you because at least you have the guts to be who you really are. Good luck, I hope your mom finds a way to get over herself, put on her big girl panties and deal with it.
