Today, I was with my friends at Burger King. While we were eating, I placed my cellphone on the tray, not realising that I'd left it there until after I emptied my tray into the bin. When I got it out of the trash, it was covered in soggy, sticky garbage. FML

Today, on my lunch break, I ran to the gas station, and threw some trash away on my way in. On my way out, I realized my keys were missing. Thinking I threw them away, and fearing that I'd be late returning to work, I tore through the disgusting trash only to find my keys on the seat of my car. FML

Today, I accidentally left my cell phone at the restaurant. When I realized my mistake, I went back to see if anyone had found it. They said no, so I gave them my number to call if it turned up. I realized later that I'd given them my cell phone number. FML

i work at mcdonalds and there was a couple that had thrown out their dentures. they had to go to the back in our garbage bags and find it. (it would've cost $1000 to replace....they found it and put it in a cup of hot water...thats it....

I would say that you were lucky be without the retainer for quite a while, and all because of an accident... Then I realised you probably don't get 90% of it payed by the goverment, do you :-P

I lost my retainer at a Chinese restaurant once. We went back to look for it, but the retainer was red and black tiger-striped, so there was no hope of finding it among all the sweet-&-sour sauce and soy sauce in the trash.
