Today, I decided to make myself a nice meal. I bought expensive pasta and sauce etc. It looked delicious, I decided the finishing touch would be some parmesan cheese. I grabbed the bag and threw a handful of cheese on my meal. The cheese was about 98% mould. FML

Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Same thing different taste
Now we're cooking
Today, I made homemade pasta from scratch. I spent hours kneading the dough, rolling it out, and cutting it into perfect strips. When I went to cook it, I realized that I forgot to add salt to the dough. The pasta tasted like damp cardboard. FML
Today, feeling too lazy to cook dinner, I bought a bagged salad from a low-end store. I dumped the contents into a bowl; the first thing that fell out was a dead mouse. Bon appetit. FML
Today, I was having a cheat meal after two weeks of strict dieting. When I opened the pizza box, I saw a cockroach. It had been baked into the cheese. FML
Today, I was halfway through eating a what I though was a delicious sandwich, when I turned it over and saw nasty green mold on the bread. FML
Today, while on break from work, I went to the cafeteria and bought cheese cubes. One of my coworkers, who is usually very pleasant, asked to try some and I said yes. She ate all the cheddar cubes in the bowl, which are the only ones I like. I wasted $3 for someone else to eat my food. FML
I'm tired
Today, I came home tired and hungry from work. I put my feet up and sat down with a big bowl of chips and salsa. I thought I must've been really hungry because my regular no-name salsa tasted way better than usual. I looked down to examine the jar. Looks like I like the taste of mold. FML
MY CHEESE!
Today, I went to work. All day, all I wanted to eat was my favorite cheese, which was waiting for me at home. I came home and someone had eaten it, then put the empty wrapper back in the fridge. FML
Today, I was making one of those microwavable pizza kits. Realizing I had no crushed red pepper to put on it, my mom suggested using a chili pepper she had dried. Thinking it was a great idea, I cracked it open on my pizza and out popped some fuzzy white mold and two maggots. FML
Yummy
Today, I decided to have some bagels. It was only after I ate them that I looked at the cream cheese and discovered that it expired 3 years ago. FML
Bon appétit
Today, like many other days, I got up to make breakfast before dawn. Not wanting to waste food, I took apart a chicken that looked fine, cutting away some of the breast for a burrito, only to realize after I ate it and went to throw out the bony bits, it was completely moldy underneath. Penicillin, anyone? FML

Lol, sucks for you.

LOL srsly. Also, how is buying pre-made pasta and sauce making yourself a nice meal? More like heating up a pre-made mediocre meal. Learn to actually cook. Oh, and look at your damn cheese before you go throwing it into your food. Fail :(

Kewlcat yes shredded cheese can go moldly. However it takes quite awhile. Long enough to the point you would want to check it before using it.

Of course it's a YDI..the OP doesn't pay attention to anything. They ate MOLD and then mispelled it Pay more attention OP

agreed. i eat pasta like all the time. when i cook a nice meal i make lemon chicken or something with my own sauce and everything. omg, how exciting. it's not that hard to make your own pasta sauce. i have to because i'm allergic to garlic. and homemade sauces are wayyyy better than in a jar. try something exciting. there's a lot of interesting pastas you can make that done come in a box and a jar. and check the freaking cheese next time. it's not that hard to see the mold. also, if you buy cheese that isn't already grated, you can just cut off the moldy spot and the rest of the cheese is still good. learn to cook a real meal.

@mer, u thought she should create pasta from scratch?

They ate MOLD and then mispelled it ---------- Er, no, you misspelled it, actually. It's spelt MOULD.
daengh 15
it's only 'mold' where they speak Americanised English. In Bristol, UK, it *is* 'mould'. WAKE UP, teh internets is not just available in the USofA.

Both are correct spellings, silly, silly ducklings.

ydi for not throwing out gross moldy cheeese.

You're both wrong. In the United States, its "mold." Everywhere else, its "mould." Kind of like "color" and "colour."

:D win!

No, 100% mold would mean that cheese is a fungus, since mold is a type of fungus. Cheese is milk that is curdled using bacteria and acids. A handful of cheese types, such as blue, have fungus added to them, after the curdling process. But cheese is still mostly milk.

I was surprised you were making pasta for Thanksgiving, and then I realized you were British. Sorry about the food though
nokillnobeepbeep 0
Pfft! I don't eat turkey for Thanksgiving. And I don't care what anyone says, it just isn't a good meat. The only traditional dish I make is honey-baked ham.
toxicxflower 0
dude honey baked ham is good! my parents don't make turkey for thanksgiving. it's not that weird.

That is true, but this is still unfortunate for the OP.

Rule of thumb: if you can't recall using it in the past two or three weeks, check the expiration date.

if it was only for yourself, you must've got some left, no?
