Today, I decided to ask my girlfriend of 3 years to marry me. I made brownies with walnuts and put an engagement ring into the brownie I gave her. Not only did she choke on the ring, but on the way to the emergency room, I find out she is highly allergic to walnuts. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 4 years. I took the whole day to cook a nice meal, and stuck the ring in a cookie that I was going to give to her. In the middle of the dinner I was holding the cookie under the table, about to give it to her. My dog ate it. FML
Not bothered
Today, I wanted to propose to my girlfriend, so I bought M&M's which I had customized with the words "Will you marry me?" on them. She ate them all without reading them. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a fancy chocolate candy and I got angry at him for forgetting that I'm allergic to chocolate and threw the candy into the garbage disposal. Turns out, he had spent a ton of money getting a chocolatier to put an engagement ring inside the candy that I just destroyed. FML
Bad idea
Today, I took my girlfriend to a very nice restaurant. I thought it would be a good place to pop the question. I gave the ring to the waiter and asked him to put it on her dessert plate. When she saw it, she picked it up, put it down, and said "No". Then she started to eat her dessert. FML
Today, I forgot my boyfriend was allergic to nuts and ate Nutella toast before he arrived. He had just brought me flowers for doing well in an exam and I kissed him. He had a reaction and I had to stab him in the leg. FML
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes, but the ring turned out to be quite tight on her finger. She then chewed me out, saying that I can't do anything right, then changed her answer to no. FML
Yes or No?

Today, it was my 17th birthday. I didn't want my family to spend money on a cake, so my dad made this delicious apple ring. At least, it was great until my mouth began to itch and my throat closed. I have been allergic to nuts since birth, and my dad put walnuts in my birthday cake. FML
Today, my fiancée and I were selecting our wedding cake. The wedding is now off since I refused to buy her the "dream" wedding cake she wanted because it was chocolate. She called me childish and cheap. I'm highly allergic to chocolate. FML
Today, I gave my boyfriend a box of chocolates as a present. A few hours later, he texted me saying that the box of chocolates contained nuts. He's allergic to nuts and his mother now thinks I'm trying to kill him. FML

I'd hate to beat a dead horse, but you're an idiot. 3 years and you didn't know? Having the condition her whole life and she wasn't smart enough to notice nuts sticking out of the damn brownie? You both have issues.

#42 couldn't have said it better. Also, sticking an engagement ring in brownies is ******* stupid, especially brownies with other crunchy bits - as you learned the hard way, she might not notice it. You should have put it in a moist cake, so her fork would hit it.

So...after 3 years you didn't know she was allergic to walnuts? Hmm...

Wow. Coming from a girl, I would definitely say no if someone asked me to marry them by shoving the ring in a brownie. Seriously? Who does that? I vote not cute. Get down on one knee and ask like a ******* gentleman.

@46, there is definitely something to be said for creativity. You can live in your fairytale world if you want where every man is perfectly chivalrous and acts just like the guy in Twilight, but I'll live in the real world where chivalry died the moment girls started being bitchy and started having an undeserved sense of entitlement. I'm not defending putting it in a brownie - that is a terrible way to do it. However, something special and creative will be infinitely more memorable than a guy doing it the standard way. I hope you meet the perfect guy, but he doesn't propose to you just like Cosmo said he should.

I'm sorry, but after three years, you are only now finding out she is highly allergic to walnuts? There is something hinky on that one.

I have to say, putting the ring in a brownie was pretty stupid. It also seems like you probably should of known she was allergic. I'm gonna have to say YDI.

Been together 3 years, and a walnut allergy was never mentioned?
