Are you stupid? YOU'RE the one who dumped him, not the other way around. If you're over your 7 year relationship with him, why isn't he allowed to be over it too? Especially since you're the one who took initiative and dumped him.

I just broke up from a 6 year relationship. When it first happened, I was on my lunch break and I just went back to work. A week later when we talked about it again and officially broke up. Then I broke down.

He would have acted differently if you two were in a good relationship, but if you were breaking up with him obviously there was already problems in your relationship...he acted like he should have : unsurprised

I don't think op meant she wanted to see him get on his knees and beg or break down and cry. What I do think she means is that she expected him to at least looked like he cared, especially being together for 7 years.
