Today, I bought my boyfriend a gold watch for our 2 year anniversary. He bought me a jar of Nutella. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, for our 2-year anniversary, I bought my girlfriend a beautiful $400 necklace. She bought me a pink $5 shirt of Elton John riding a piano through space. FML
Today, is my boyfriend and my 3 year anniversary. We decided to give each other something that we really needed. I bought him the $300 worth of books that he needed for college. He surprised me with a workout video and exercise equipment. FML
Who? Where?
Today, my husband bought me a beautiful pair of earrings for my birthday, to match the necklace he'd spent months searching for online the previous year. What necklace? He gave me a watch he found at Walmart last year. I wonder who the lucky girl with the necklace is. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our five-year anniversary. I got him a new flat-screen TV. He got me toilet seat cover. FML
Today, is my five year anniversary. My boyfriend said he was gonna get me something shiny this year. I thought he was gonna propose. He got me a set of sparkle glue. FML
Today, I gave my husband an expensive watch. The first words out of his mouth were, "You didn't use our joint bank account for this, right?" He then asked if I still had the receipt. FML
Today, it is my boyfriend's and my one year anniversary. I bought him a Playstation 2. As soon as I gave it to him, he went straight to set it up without giving me anything. I said "What about me?" He walked over to me, gave me a kiss and said "I love it when you buy me things for no reason." FML
Today, my boyfriend and I gave each other early Christmas gifts. I gave him a basketball signed by his favorite player, which took me forever to find. He got me diet pills. FML
Today, my boyfriend gave me a pair of ankle weights for my birthday. How utterly romantic. FML
Today, as a 1 year anniversary present, my boyfriend let me see and wear my engagement ring. He then made me give it back at the end of the day. FML

Take the watch back. Buy him some bread. Now you can both share Nutella and Bread sandwiches. Winning

Correction. If he loved her even MORE than Jiffy, he would have gotten her whipped cream. That can actually come to use.

It's all about the money, money... You want him to look rich and successful, so that he may become rich and successful (and you'll have access to that), but he just wants you fat, dumb and happy.

at least he got you something.

I don't think your boyfriend loves you. Nutella? NUTELLA?? Are you ******** me? ****, if he loved you he would have bought you a gallon-sized can of industrial chocolate pudding.

for all you people that keep on saying the OP is a materialistic bitch, please do a reality check. you'd be upset too if your gift is x10 more expensive than his/her meaningless, cheap crap. Don't fool yourselves.

Something similar happened to me once, I still think my boyfriend at the time got me the better present. Gifts really don't matter, so what if he nipped to the shop for the present at the last minute? We got to share a bag of doritos together and have a fantastic talk as we did. If it happened again, I still wouldn't care.

so caring about the fact how much a gift you get costs doesn't make you materialistic? good call... What counts is that a gift is thoughtful, that it shows you made an effort to make someone happy. Cost is almost irrelevant here.

I wouldn't, actually. I wouldn't care how much my gift cost. It's the thought that counts. (And maybe he thought she would really really like the Nutella.) Well, I might care how much the gift cost. If it was really expensive, I'd be kind of uncomfortable with it. I'd much rather get something that cost $20 than $200.
