Today, I asked my daughter what time it was. She stared at the clock for several seconds before muttering, "I don't know". She's 14 years old and on the honour roll, and yet she can't tell the time on an analogue clock. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my daughter decided it'd be funny to change the time on my clock. My boss didn't think it was funny. FML
MOOOOOM!!
Today, my daughter was putting clothes in the drier when she yelled, "Mom!! The drier won't start!" I had to explain to her that the door needed to be shut. Her response, "Oh. I didn't know that mattered." She's 15. FML
Drugs
Today, my daughter admitted that she sometimes forgets her own name upon waking. She’s 15. FML
Whatever it is, it's not enough
Today, my second-grade daughter asked her teacher how much money she makes. FML
Today, I told my daughter that she wasn't allowed to eat in her room, so she sat at the table and glared at me for 10 minutes while she ate. She's 15. FML
Today, my daughter, who was born in late 2000, mentioned how amazing it is that she'll be alive during the year 3000. I asked her exactly how old she thinks she'll be by then. She said, "Thirty, duh." I've screwed up as a parent, so very badly. FML
Today, my daughter asked me how long she had to put her 2-minute noodles in the microwave for. FML
Today, my grandma walked into my room and asked if the thing lying on my nightstand was a computer. I said ''Grandma, that's a clock.'' After staring at me, confused for a few seconds, she then farted, and left my room. FML
Today, I submitted my big assignment to my teacher at 1:55pm. The deadline was 2pm. She rejected it, because her watch read a few minutes after 2pm, and she maintains that the time on her watch is the "real" time. FML
Not the sharpest tool
Today, I took my 16 year-old daughter to get a bank account, taking her birth certificate with us as requested. When the teller wrote her name down on a piece of paper, my daughter said, "How do you know my name?" The teller just looked at her and held up her birth certificate. I raised a nitwit. FML

I know college kids who can't read a regular clock. It scares me that these people are the future of this world.

You criticise the OP for using British English, and yet you use the mainly British "spelt", as well as type like a comatose crackhead. Hmm...
PsychoticAsylum 26
It's British English, brah and in my opinion, the correct way to spell "honour". Also, might I suggest to please work on your grammar and spelling, before you correct someone else's?

'Spelt' is not British-English. We use spelled. Spelt is a kind of wheat (triticum aestivum spelta).. As far as I'm aware it's another American bastardisation of our language..
Sirin_fml 47
No, it's a chiefly British English variation of spelled; not the version endorsed by most academics, but a variation nonetheless most commonly used in Britain. The whole point is that when being ignorant of other dialects and insulting people, people should probably stick 100% to their own to minimise the embarrassment to themselves and the country they represent.

The only 'Spelt' in the dictionary I have is the wheat hence me assuming it was American. Even a Google search wasn't overly helpful..

http://www.wordreference.com/definition/spelt It's a bit worrying for a dictionary not to cover that word fully. We used to learn this stuff in school. But then, we learned a lot of weird stuff. Or would that be learnt?

Don't blame her daughter blame the schooling my sister has trouble with reading analog clocks as well because her school didn't teach her

I really don't see much of a problem with this to be honest... I myself can read an analogue clock, but I rarely need to actually read one. It's not that important of a skill anymore to be used everyday. Hell, analogue clocks will probably be on their way out soon and just be used for decoration. I don't see how someone is stupid for not being able to read one, I doubt half of you could read a sundial right?

we know ur not on the honor roll or was because a). your problablay retarded b). you don't know how to spell honor
PsychoticAsylum 26

and you can't spell analog

My sister was the same way when she was about that age. She couldn't read an analog clock. she also didn't know what you meant if you said something like "it's a quarter after four." I clearly remember being taught to read an analog clock in 1st grade. apparently no one else does.
