Today, my daughter decided it'd be funny to change the time on my clock. My boss didn't think it was funny. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got in trouble with my boss for doing what she wanted me to do. I guess she didn't think I would do it, so she did it herself. FML
Today, I found out that my coworker shared a laugh with the boss about setting the office desk on fire (which he actually did), while ten minutes later I was threatened with being fired because I made paper snowflakes and hung a few of them next to the computer. FML
Today, I had a job interview at 9:00am. I left at around 8:30am, and as soon as I got in the car to drive to the interview, I checked my phone again, and it said 10:33. My boyfriend had decided to change the time on my clock as a "joke." FML
Today, my boss suspended me for laughing too hard at my desk and causing a big scene in front of our customers. I was laughing because he'd forwarded me a hilarious email. He was practically smirking as he handed me my official warning. FML
Reunited
Today, I accidentally called my boss "Mom." Now she is jokingly telling everyone that I'm the long-lost daughter she gave up for adoption, because she knew I'd be a failure. FML
Storage wars
Today, I brought my daughter to work with me. When we walked in, a client was blowing up at my boss, all because as my boss was walking past his storage unit, he glanced in and was about to compliment how neat it was. After my boss left, I had to deal with the aftermath, which left my daughter terrified of this man. FML
Today, my boss yelled at me for leaving on time. After months of management hounding us about our overtime, I get in trouble for doing what I was supposed to do. FML
**** my shit up
Today, my four-year-old daughter thought it'd be funny to cut my hair while I was sleeping. FML
Today, my boss fired me because of the way I laugh. Apparently it reminds him too much of his ex-wife's laugh. I'm a guy. FML
Today, my daughter decided to wake me up by putting the vacuum in my hair and turning it on. FML

Explain to him what happened. He will understand.

When you get home, treat it as if it's the right time, and make your daughter go to bed at 5pm.

Really though? If someone told me that, I would think that it was just a lame excuse..

7, if it's OP's first offense, it's rather harsh of the boss to immediately disregard her excuse and punish her

I think the author of the FML already implied that he told his boss, and his boss still didn't give him any slack. "My boss didn't think it was funny"

I'm sorry but no boss will ever accept that excuse. It's like the adult version of "the dog ate my homework".

LOL at the people downvoting my comment. Have you ever had to lead a group of people? Half of them will try to find a ridiculous excuse to come late to work or not do their work. After a while you just ignore everything. That excuse doesn't make you look good OP. It's not the 1900s anymore. Most people have a phone, tv, watch, multiple clocks, computers etc. Didn't you notice the time difference? Did she change it while you were sleeping? That's unfortunate but you should always have a plan B. What if the alarm clock stops working while you're sleeping? Always have a second alarm clock(or set your phone's alarm software) just in case something happens to the main one. Also phones can be locked so no one will be able to change anything.

We live in the digital age...its a BS excuse. I had a student show up late to class because two days before we switched back to Daylight Savings...so you're telling me your electronic devices like your computers, laptops, tablets, and mobile phones...all of which change the time for you...and you "didn't notice"?
gpg5 19
She could've changed the time on his alarm and then taken his phone.
pizzzah 9
thats why you should wear a watch so she cant change it without you knowing
Psycho_Babydoll 26
Watches don't usually wake you up.
FluffyPandas156 13
isn't that's why there's smartwatches nowadays? even though they're expensive. But they can wake you up.
iAmPaul 49
26 - Neither do clocks. However, certain digital watches can be programmed to have an alarm. Clearly the answer here though is a smartphone alarm.

Im sure your boss would understand if you explain what happened :)

I'm not sure you've picked up on what bosses are like in the FML community; they're not exactly kindhearted. Most of them are dicks, idiots, or both. I hope OP's boss is different in a good way.
val_is_lame97 12
well i just got an account and havent been readig them for a while so i wouldnt know

Call his kid and advise him to play the same joke on him.
silvercamaro 22
I'm sorry but that just sounds creepy.
PSYqualiac 17
23, Correction, that IS creepy.
WCARlover 35
Your boss sounds like he or she doesn't have any kids. Otherwise they would probably be more understanding..sorry OP try using your phone from now on?
shelbzlynn 14
Uh oh, someone's in trouble...
miianah1 22
Man, you must've been alarmed.
anonykinetic 14
Just not at the right time.

That statement implies that the daughter set the clocks ahead by a few hours. However, assuming OP was late for work, that would mean that the daughter actually set the clocks back by a few hours. Your logic doesn't follow.
patrickeli 15
I'm assuming your daughter is a little kid. I can't stand children.
Mynamewontfi 40
Kids probably feel the same way about you.
patrickeli 15
And you are?

Haha that sucks, funny tho?.
