Today, I'm in the hospital for a broken hip and cerebral hemorrhage, bedridden with a continuous headache. My roommate has dementia and shouts and cries all day about a hospital conspiracy where everybody is drinking tea all the time except her. This will be a long month. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Falling Down
Today, I woke up in hospital. Apparently, I fell down the stairs, broke 3 ribs, one toe, and hit my head so much that 12 stitches were needed. I also blacked out for an hour before my husband found me covered in blood. Recovery should take about a month and a half. FML
Boiling point
Today, I have a massive headache, thanks to my asshat of a roommate, who decided to balance our tea kettle on the top of the kitchen door. When I stumbled into the kitchen, half-awake, it came smashing down onto my head. FML
Time is precious
Today, and over the past three months, I and four of my immediate family have been in hospital. Debilitating foot infection. Brain tumor. Urinary tract infection. Stroke. I just found out a few minutes ago my aunt just went in. I'm starting to think I'm going to be losing relatives any second. FML
Tetchy
Today, I visited my Aunt in hospital. Another patient got jealous, so she threw a tantrum. She threw things at us, pulled her drip out, threw herself to the floor, screamed, pounded the floor with her fists and pissed herself. My aunt is still waiting for a new room, and the staff blame me. FML
Today, I finally went to the hospital for a week-long migraine. A few Saturdays ago I went to the park to play frisbee with my friends and coworkers. While climbing a fence, I fell and hit my head twice. Turns out I have a severe concussion and a swollen brain. FML
Today, my dad got drunk and played a practical joke on me; a practical joke that resulted in my knee being broken. Now, I'm sitting in a hospital bed all alone while my dad hunts for "hot nurses". FML
Today, I went to the hospital emergency room to visit my boyfriend who had badly sliced his leg open. It ended with me being admitted with a possible head trauma, after hitting my head on the wall and floor as I collapsed at the sight of his wound. FML
Addictions kill
Today, my mom fell and hit her head on our coffee table when walking inside. She tripped on a 1 cm gate rail. She split her head open and there was so much blood. This is the third bad fall in 2 weeks. She still smokes, despite having COPD, and the ER doctor telling her smoking is depriving her brain of oxygen. FML
Today, my roommate told me that I have to find a new place to live because I make his new girlfriend uncomfortable. I just had surgery and am bedridden. FML
Today, I woke up in hospital after a night of heavy drinking. My friends told me I was beat up by the doorman. After going to the club to watch the security footage, it was revealed I actually fell on my face trying to fight, and caused more damage to myself. FML

Can't you try explaining the situation and possibly being moved to another room?

OP - You have my sympathy! Those with dementia cannot be reasoned with, nor will they likely remember your explanations - that’s the nature of the beast. But do request to be moved to another room as soon as possible explaining why.

Everyone smelled the situation I was having with my roommate after my heart attack and they couldn’t get either of us moved. No open beds. I felt bad for her, but it was miserable on me too. They kept finding me sleeping in the visitor area.

Same here. I tried to sleep in the corridor but the nurses refused to give me pain meds there, so I unfortunately had to go back to my room and try to sleep while covering my eyes and ears.

On the bright side you're alive. I had my hemorrhage 19 years ago this November

Buy her some tea when she is sleeping, when she wakes up then you start going off on a tangent about a conspiracy about everyone but you getting tea.

You can easily ask to be moved into another room, how is this an FML?

Yeah, she can easily ask, but that doesn't mean that she gets moved to another room.

Why are homeless people sad? They can easily ask for a home!

Make sure all of your friends and relatives bring you absurd quantities of tea when they visit you, and ask them to wear black hooded robes and mumble an incantation when they present the offering to you.

Sounds like the beginning of a super hero origin story.

Ask your friends to bring you a dormouse, a teapot, a teacup, a high hat and a stuffed brown hare, then have a tea party with your roomate.

Could be worse. You could be a narcoleptic in a room with a necrophiliac.
