Everyone is human. Including psychiatrists. Hell, even decent comedians cant laugh away the pain. Take Robin Williams for an example. Everyone has demons. Your therapist might have been in the career because they know what its like. Its sad it ended like this, but not everyone can cope, and some do having breaking points/limits. Its what shows we are humans, and not immortals.

My favorite therapist, who I have seen for a few years now, is bipolar, has depression and ADHD. I will always say she is an excellent therapist because she herself sees someone and she never recommends anything she hasn't tried herself. To me it shows that she is human and isn't just regurgitating information from a textbook. Even though some of her strategies don't work for me, it's nice to know that they are effective strategies that are being used by someone with actual mental health issues rather than someone without any

That doesn’t bode well...

It's very unlikely that your problems bummed him out so much he decided to make his exit. Well, it's somewhat unlikely.

My psychiatrist did the same thing about three years ago. I ended up going through a hard time afterwards... wondering if it ever does get better... but decided I can’t do anything about anyone else— just keep my own mind in the right place

You'll find that most (if not all) mental health professionals have got some sort of personal experience with mental illness or mental health issues. We make the best therapists for that very reason!

you know, its not your fault friend. have grace for them and say a prayer

Unfortunately the best psychologists are often a bit crazy too. Takes one to know one?
