Today, I am currently grounded for three weeks, have no car, cell phone, or television privileges, and am not allowed to spend more than 10 minutes on the computer a day. The reason why: I was seven minutes past my 9'oclock curfew. I'm 18. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was grounded for not agreeing with an article on dating my mom found in a very strict magazine. The article told parents to monitor phone calls, make rumors about their children cheating on people, and not allow their children anywhere but home. FML
Judge and jury
Today, I turned 18 and I’m now subject to adult discipline. My dad says I will no longer be grounded or have my phone taken away, but I have three strikes and if I get to three, he’s throwing me out to get my own house. He then gave me my first strike because I was 30 minutes late picking up my nana. FML
Today, I'm a 22 year-old guy with a 11:00 pm curfew. FML
Today, my dad learned how to use the parental controls. I now have an 11 o'clock curfew. I am 17. FML
You gotta be kidding me?
Today, my mom scolded me and threatened to ground me for coming home past midnight. Normally, it wouldn't be unreasonable, except for the fact that I'm 24 years-old, and that my parents live with me, in my own house. FML
Today, my mum took away my laptop and my phone and won't let me call, text, or go out with friends for one month. Why? I left the toilet seat up. I'm writing this from a public library. FML
Today, I was given a call home, a 3-day-suspension, and a week of detention in school for a "serious violation of the code of conduct." Said violation? Jogging in the middle of the hall. FML
Logic
Today, I was grounded by my mom because I had slept in past 11, when she wanted me to wake up at seven to do chores. According to her logic, I should have seen the note she left on the counter earlier this morning. FML
How very dare you?
Today, I told my mom about the couple of times that I'd skipped classes during high school. She got really mad and grounded me for a month. That would usually be normal except for the fact that I'm 27 and live in my own apartment. FML
Bad grandma
Today, I'm grounded for literally the whole summer because my parents found out that I was still seeing my grandma behind their backs, even though they banned her from ever seeing us again after she spanked my sister. FML

You remind me of my best friend. He has this same problem. Strict parents that can't let go of their son/daughter. Tell your parents that you are 18! which means you are able to make your own desicions. Forget the rules they gave. Break them and get your cellphone and car and your dignity back. Please do it before you end up being a 40 year old person who is still living with their parents. Good Luck.

Please... this FML is nothing compared to my friend. Her curfew is at like 6PM before sunset and before the street lights go on. Only time she stayed pass her curfew was because of collage orientation that required a 1 night stay over.

My parents are like that and I'm 19.

Er, move out. Or if that's financially unfeasible, at least try to get your parents to recognize that you're an adult human being and that their relationship with you is going to have to change if they expect you to do anything but resent them after you've finally moved out. And if they're not going to treat you like an adult, then you can always take the passive-aggressive route and start behaving like a child in an exaggerated fashion (put on clothes from a few years ago, throw tantrums, insist on eating nothing but candy and ice cream for dinner, whine at them to buy you toys, etc) so that they really get the point that if they're not going to consider you an adult then you don't have any obligation to act like one. They want a perpetual child, that's what they're going to get.
