Today, after nearly six weeks of seeing a nice girl, we finally decided to make it official. Two hours later, she pulled out a bridal magazine and not-so-casually asked me which wedding location I thought was the nicest. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I proposed to my girlfriend in front of about 75 people in the fanciest restaurant in town. She told me she was already engaged, while holding up her right hand. FML
Today, the guy I've been seeing for a little over a week proposed to me. FML
News to me
Today, I finally mustered up the courage to ask someone out. She smiled, hugged me, and said, "That's so sweet. I'll have to ask my fiancé if he's OK with it." That was how I found out she was engaged. FML
Today, my girlfriend started to plan our wedding. We've been going out for 3 days. FML
Today, I married the beautiful girl I’ve been in love with since we were both 6 years old. By married, I mean I performed the marriage ceremony as the vicar and watched her smile and kiss her arsehole boyfriend, now husband, right in front of me. FML
Today, my ex-girlfriend proposed to me, at my wedding. FML
Today, the girl I've been dating for two weeks brought up the topic of marriage, then started asking me when we're moving in together. FML
Today, another man proposed to my girlfriend. She said yes. FML
Shelve your plans
Today, I discovered that my fiancé had responded to an online missed connection posting. He has been emailing, exchanging pictures and making plans to go out with this girl. We are supposed to be married in the fall and just put down the non-refundable deposit on our reception site. FML
Today, I decided to pop the question to my beloved. Perfect lighting, fresh cut roses, a fancy dinner. The restaurant was in on it too. Shame they brought out the wedding-themed congratulations dessert before I actually went down on my knee. FML

Run while you can.

I hear going to Jamaica is the "in" place to go. As in, be like Usain Bolt and run.

Ok, here's what you need to do. Go to Mexico. Change your name Juan Julio Estevez Jose Jalapeño (on a stick) Chavez-Garcia. Grow a beard and shave it off, and live happily ever after.

No offense op but you are probably the least part of the bridal equation on her mind. It's a girl thing. Most of us love pretty dresses, dressing up, decorating and creating things, ideas and costumes to show off our talents. The dream wedding (which most girls fine tune from junior high on) is usually the most ideal occasion to flaunt it all. Grooms are just a part of the package. So, unless she starts asking where the ring is and trying to hire the preacher, don't worry. And always be sure to add " one day in the future, maybe" when you answer wedding questions.

Oh yeah, the person they are vowing to spend the rest of their life with is just part of the package. Not like they're supposed to be important or anything.

Focusing more on a one-time wedding ceremony rather than the theoretical life-time you will spend with your husband afterwards is definitely not something I'd suggest!

"It's a girl thing"? Well, shit, guess the doctors ****** that one up when I was born, because I have no intention of getting married and definitely not at some huge, frilly to-do if I did get that crazy. I think it's more likely that OP's girlfriend is a few cans short of a six-pack when it comes to weddings.

Yeah you're a crazy one too! Guys dream about going to the Super Bowl but don't pull out a seating chart and ask where we will sit with every new gf we find. If you're married I feel bad for the accessory.

6 weeks of dating? That's not a girl thing. That's a psycho thing. That's creepy as hell. I've been dating my boyfriend for months and not once have either of us pulled out a wedding magazine.

no guys, 38 has it totally right! everyone knows weddings are all about how much everything costs and how big and extravagant you can get. falling in love and wanting to spend your life with the guy/girl of your dreams is 'just part of the package'. and hey, go for it OP! if you dont work out you can always get a divorce! also, one direction and bieber are the best muse suck

Gross, girls like that are so stupid instead of just being themselves and letting someone fall in love with them and marry them like they dream of, they push the issue and end up losing the very thing they want.

I would be terrified to see your idea of a stage 5 clinger.
