Today, I told my boyfriend that I gained a few pounds and thought I looked fat. He replied that I looked the same and that I shouldn't worry because he likes fat girls. I never thought I was fat before this. FML
Today, I was doubting my boyfriend's feelings for me, so I asked him if he found me attractive. He replied, "Well, you're thin enough…" That's all. FML
Today, I was talking to my boyfriend, feeling pretty low. I said something along the lines of, "You like me even when I look like shit." He replied, "Ah, that's just how you naturally look." FML
Today, at school, one of my students confidently told me that I "wasn't hiding my baby bump very well anymore." I'm not pregnant. Just fat, apparently. FML
Today, my boyfriend encouragingly told me that he could tell I was losing weight, all because I had one roll fewer than usual on my stomach. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I was afraid our future children would be fat and ugly. He reassured me, saying that he was sure our spawn would take on after him. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend that I'm pregnant. He seemed excited, and said we should make the baby fat so he can bounce her on his lap and watch her double chin jiggle. Just to prove he's serious, he's been searching for high-calorie foods for babies. FML
Today, while in bed, my boyfriend pointed to my stomach and said, "Bad fat", then pointed to my boobs and said, "Good fat." FML
Today, I was proudly telling my husband that I only gained 8 lbs throughout the pregnancy thus far. I usually obsess over my weight, so it was a great accomplishment for me. He then turned and pinched my arms, saying, "Well, looks like all the fat migrated to your arms." FML
Today, I was talking to my boyfriend about how I'm self conscious about my weight. He looks at me and says, "Don't worry babe, I've always been kind of a chubby chaser." FML

Not every girl who complains about her body is fishing for compliments. I used to complain about my weight to my boyfriend all the time. I wasn't fishing for compliments. I honestly thought I was fat and had nearly developed an eating disorder. If my boyfriend had said something like that to me I probably really would have had an eating disorder. Stop bashing OP when you don't even know the whole story.

right? I hate that! I hate the idea that I might be fishing for compliments but sometimes I do just make comments that could be construed that way even when that wasn't my intention. and sometimes I do just need the extra reassurance it's normal. I don't do it a lot but luckily I found a guy who understands this and loves me enough to not attack me like half the people on here would

It's so annoying when people try to say "I'm fat" "I'm ugly" "I wish skinny" and stuff like that just to get complements so YDI for trying to fish for complements. But also FYL because he didn't try to disagree.

actually that's kinda sweet. he's trying to compliment. sure its not exactly what you want to hear but he still thinks you're attractive. my husband has given similar compliments and I took them at that because I realize he means it when he says he likes the way I look.

1.) To me, it sounded like OP's boyfriend was the one to bring up the topic of her weight, not OP herself. Therefore she wasn't fishing for compliments. 2.) Women are, in fact, allowed to talk to their boyfriends about their insecurities without "fishing for compliments". So maybe you should shut YOUR "stupid ass" up.

But I don't think the boyfriend was even mean. I don't get why everyone is acting like he said a bad thing..so can someone please explain how it's bad? I read it as op saying she's not thin and her boyfriend saying that she looks good as a big person.
