Today, after I got the birth control implant, waited a week like my doctor told me, my fiancé is still too scared that I'll get pregnant. It's been two months. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Skipped
Today, I found out that I’m pregnant even though I've had the implant for a couple of years. I don’t know what’s worse, the fact that I got knocked up after only seeing the guy for a few weeks, or the fact that I had a boyfriend for five years and it never happened. The new guy thinks I lied and bailed. FML
Yeet it
Today, I finally had my doctor's appointment to get my tubes tied. I've been waiting for 2 years. Instead, I found out that my birth control failed and I'm pregnant. FML
Non-baby fever
Today, I found out that my fiancé, with whom I've been with for 10 years, doesn't want to have sex with me because he thinks I'm going to trap him into having a baby. He sees me take my contraceptive pill nightly and knows I was booked in for having a coil fitted before Covid-19 happened. FML
Weeks?
Today, I’m allergic to all forms of hormonal birth control, and due to the virus outbreak, I can’t get my implant replaced. We’re in quarantine, and my boyfriend and I just used our last condom. It’s going to be a long couple of weeks. FML
Go deep
Today, it's been one week since I went to get my birth control renewed. It also marks 16 days until I get the half that broke off in my uterus removed. FML
Oops
Today, after my wife and I have been trying for a baby for 2 years, I found out she's still on the pill. Apparently when she was a teen she had bad period cramps, so her doctor gave her the pill for the pain. She never realized it stops pregnancy. FML
Noob
Today, my 18-year-old boyfriend freaked out and kept asking me if I was sure I wouldn't get pregnant, because I forgot to take my birth control pill last night. We didn't actually have sex; he apparently thought me simply missing the pill would magically get me pregnant. The hell? FML
Today, after nearly 5 months of trying for a baby, I found out my wife has continued to take the pill as it gave her a better idea of her cycle and thus when she'd be "most fertile". FML
Not a Bio major
Today, my boyfriend said that to be extra careful he's been taking my birth control pills too. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I were about to get intimate for the first time. He said he didn't want to use a condom, and that I should just give him one of my birth control pills instead, "so we can still be just as safe". What the hell? FML

I mean, with a fiancée, this wouldn't be a problem. A fiancé, however, is another story.

As they say in middleschool, the only way to not get pregnant is abstinence!

Gak. The timeline on this FML is awful.

It's a little bit weird. I would assume that you had sex before since he's your fiance. So what birth control did you use then? Does he just not understand how those implants work? Or does he want to avoid sex in general because of his fear? If it's the latter it was very shitty of him to not talk about before you got engaged and before you got the implant which costs some money and ***** with your body. Plus even if there is an accident, there is this great thing called abortion which enables you to make decisions over your own body. If he doesn't trust you with this either then it's probably best if he doesn't have sex with a woman.

Maybe they used condoms and he prefers something he can actually see working. Abortion is not for everyone, prevention is better than cure.

I had the iud because my man was scared to get me pregnant too. We waited 1 day. I'm sure your guy will come around eventually.

Your man was scared but only waited one day..... ok.

Just because they're engaged doesn't mean they've had sex before. Some people prefer to wait for a variety of reasons, not always religious ones. And if he's afraid of her getting pregnant, why would he be cheating? And he's engaged to her, it's unlikely that he's gay, that also has nothing to do with anything. Saying he'll "come around" is incredibly offensive. He's not required to sleep with her, even while engaged or married. It is something they should talk about obviously. But nothing about the situation makes sex mandatory.

You actually can divorce your spouse if they refuse to have sex in marriage. There is a certain amount of time you have to consummate the marriage before the marriage is considered invalid. I learned that when I had to put "reason" on my divorce papers.

You can still use condoms even if you have an implant

The implant is more effective than a vasectomy or getting your tubes tied, does he know that? (According to the CDC)

You could double or triple up on bc by using other kinds too.

Sounds like OP's partner has some major anxiety going on. It might be worth making a plan for what they'd do if OP *did* get pregnant, just so they know they're both on the same page, and it doesn't feel like such a big scary end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it, panic stations situation - since as other people have noted, any contraception can fail.

All birth control have an initial waiting period of 3 months to become effective. So unless you switched between birth control, like from the pill to the implant, so your fiancé is correct. Wait another month.

Most hormonal types of bc are actually effective after 3 weeks (one cycle). Physical barriers like an IUD are effective immediately.
