Today, a customer became irrationally angry and called me a "stupid bitch", all because she couldn't use the coupon clearly marked "30% off grocery items" on a prescription from our pharmacy. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Ungrateful
Today, a customer called me a "smart ass" because I helped him scan his coupon correctly. FML
Today, I was verbally harassed by a customer because I wouldn’t give her special treatment after her meal was incorrect. I offered her a refund and a coupon for a free meal, which she refused before calling me a stupid kid who wouldn’t do anything to help her. FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML
Frustration level: infinity
Today, I was working drive thru and took a huge order. When the people pulled around to the window, they handed me a stack of coupons. None of the coupons were even related to what they ordered. They made me change their order to fit the coupons because they couldn't read. FML
Today, a customer at the Walmart I work at had a hissy fit and began throwing merchandise everywhere, including at my face, because we are Canadian and don't have a show called "Extreme Couponing" for "devoted shoppers" like her. FML
Today, a lady stormed into the pharmacy I work at and chewed me out because the medicine I sold her the day before gave her horrible diarrhea as a "side effect". I checked, and it was the medicine she asked for - laxatives. FML
Today, I had someone place two separate to-go orders, so that he could use two of his "25% off" coupons. He couldn't understand why it wasn't 50% off his total bill, no matter how many times I plainly explained it to him. FML
Today, at my cashier job, I got written up for accepting obviously photocopied coupons. Last week, I got written up for "inadequate customer service" because I refused to accept the same bogus coupons from the same customer. FML
Today, I was yelled at by a customer because I couldn't tell her where the vitamins were in the pharmacy. The manager came and yelled at me for being lazy and incompetent. I work in the store across the street from the pharmacy. FML
Wait, what?
Today, a customer said the pants she was buying rang up more than advertised. I quietly told her plus-sizes were not on sale. The customer yelled in front of a whole line of people, "So I'm fat and can't read! Any other insults you'd like to throw at me?" and stormed out of the store. FML

Welp you can't fix stupid. And apparently stupid doesn't know how to read. Maybe give her some reading glasses for next time.

I honestly worry for people like that...The level of wrong in that situation is so high, you have to wonder if there's actually something wrong with how their minds work. And there are actually a lot of people these days who do stuff like this. Seriously, it goes far beyond just being stupid or taking the "the customer is always right" thing too literally. I feel like these kinds of customers are legitimately not right in the head.

Does your pharmacy have any grocery items? That's pretty much the most you can justify the customers reasoning. Still pretty dumb though

Pretty sure in NYS you can't use coupons at pharmacies anyway. As a fellow pharmer, I feel your pain.

At least you weren't called a "bum bitch" because a guest didn't want to pay the last $2 on their bill... People have problems, but I refuse to let it affect me... Good luck OP!!!

I can relate. I've been called a dumb **** because I follow HIPPA privacy laws and wouldn't release private information to someone who wasn't the patient.

As someone who has worked retail and customer service for some time now.. I have come to learn that a good 80% of people who walk through the door are in fact illiterate. Or maybe they're just selectively literate? Either way, it happens more often than it should. I'm sorry, OP

Ah, the wonderful world of retail. Sorry that happened to you. The customers hope we won't pay attention and they'll get away with whichever scam they're up to. People are so manipulative in these situations. They get pissed off when they get caught and also don't get their way.
