This is going well
Today, my husband is so bored with speaking to me, he literally walked outside when I was mid-sentence during a conversation about how I need more attention in our relationship. We've only been married 3 months. FML

Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my husband explained that talking to me makes him miserable. FML
Today, I tried to talk to my soon-to-be-husband about how he needs to take a more active approach in his own life. It devolved to him screaming at me and putting words in my mouth. This has been going on for six months. FML
Today, my husband of 30 years told me that he thought we should 'just be friends'. FML
Today, I was sick and tired of my husband talking to his female friend from high school all the time. They reconnected after 7 years and have been talking non-stop day and night, to the point of neglecting the marriage. I told him it was either me or her. He took off his ring and kicked me out of our house. FML
Today, my husband wrote all these wonderful romantic messages to me via Facebook, proclaiming his love to me in front of all my friends and family. Too bad he hasn't spoken to me in "real life" for almost 3 weeks. FML
Today, my fiancé of two years told me he was bored of me and he'd just prolonged the engagement to see if anyone more interesting would come along in the mean time. He was upset because no one did. FML
Today, my husband of 3 weeks told me he doesn't want to be married anymore because I suggested getting a joint bank account. FML
Today, my husband (M72) and I (F69) had yet another argument over all the time he spends away from home doing hobbies and volunteering. After an emotional conversation about my moving out, he said, "Well, if we are done talking about that, let me tell you what I got to do today." Biggest emotional slap ever. FML
Today, after being tired of my husband acting like I’m invisible, giving more attention and affection to the dog than to me, and me going to spend a few nights at my sister’s house, he texted me, "You coming home to make dinner or what?" on the second day. It's now day 4 and he hasn’t said anything else since. FML
Today, my wife of seven years told me she wants a divorce because I'm boring. FML

If you’re telling him about your needs/ desires/expectations regarding your relationship and he just walks out, it sounds like he doesn’t really care about you or your relationship. But we don’t know the context of the conversation and your relationship. For example, if you’re constantly telling him the same thing over and over again, he might have just felt like he already knew what you were gonna say so he didn’t need to hear it again, and he left because he was tired of always having the same conversation or maybe he didn’t want the conversation to turn into a fight (if that’s what usually happens) Also, some people once they are married think « ok, we’re settled down now, we’re gonna be together for life, I don’t need to make any efforts anymore ». I don’t know if your husband is like that, but maybe he thinks that even if he doesn’t pay more attention to you, you won’t leave him or be too mad at him or anything, so why should he make efforts to give you more attention.

This could go either way depending on what you're talking about. If you're only talking about yourself all the time and not listening to anything he says in return and just got married so you could have a captive audience, then YDI.

You probably won't be married much longer. Thank you, ... next!

Wow I'd like to hear his side, because you sound like you want all kinds of attention.

I mean, she deserves more attention if he’s walking out on her mid sentence

Depends on how long the conversation was. If he left in the third hour of this conversation, she might have been given enough attention.

If she's drama queening all the time demanding his attention, then I would say yes he is obligated to leave the room, especially if she wants to rant and rave...

You might need to consider seeing a couples counsellor/therapist, OP. Have you tried *asking* him about what's going on? Instead of submitting him to a lecture about the lack of attention, try getting his side of the story (if you haven't already asked/tried). Communication is a two way street, so it could help to give him the chance to have a voice.

Tell him you want a divorce! If he doesn't even respect you enough to listen to you, doesn't matter if you literally say it to him several times a day! NO matter what the circumstances if a man chooses not to respect you, get rid of him! He is useless to you! You can totally do better!

Does he see you trying to help yourself, or do you think it’s his responsibility?
