Taking a stand
Today, I had to run for the train, but because of my bad foot and limping they held the train, much to people's displeasure. No one let me sit down, so for the 20 minute journey, I stood. With a bad foot. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I was sitting waiting for my train for a long while. When it finally came, I had pins and needles in my foot. When I got up, I fell and unsuccessfully stumbled towards the train. The doors closed and it left without me. FML
Today, on my way to school, I was shouted at by an obnoxious businessman for sitting down on the train when a "full fare paying passenger" was standing. I would normally have given him the seat straight away, except I have a broken leg. I showed him my leg and crutches. He still made me get up. FML
Today, I ran for the train that was about to leave. I tried to hold the doors open with my leg and got stuck. The conductor just yelled out how unbelievable and ridiculous I was and waited 2 minutes to finally release me. Everyone was laughing at me. FML
Today, I ran to catch the train, but slipped on the stairs and fell on my shoulder. However, my effort was rendered useless; it wasn't even my train. FML
Today, my train was canceled so my ticket expired by the time another train arrived. I was fined $90 by ticket inspectors 'cause my claim that the early train didn't run was "unsubstantiated". Leaving the train I was pushed by the crowd, fell, lost a shoe and had to walk home with one bare foot. FML
Today, I was on train when an attractive girl got on. There were no free seats and seeing as how my stop was next, I gave her mine. As soon as I did, the train came to an immediate halt, due to "brake problems". I spent the next 40 minutes standing up. FML
Today, I was waiting for the train. It arrived, I got on and the woman behind me stepped on the back of my shoe. My shoe came flying off and landed in the gutter between the train and the platform. The doors closed, the train pulled away. FML
Today, I rushed onto the metro to get to work. I found there were no seats left and asked a perfectly healthy guy to let me sit in the handicap spot. He refused to because "being tired" was a handicap characteristic. I have one leg. FML
Today, I was on the train to work. I was up late the night before, causing me to doze off. When I woke up, I was at my station. I stood up, went to walk out of the door and fell flat on my face on a platform full of people. Someone had tied my shoelaces together. FML
Today, I took a busy train into the city. I was lucky enough to get a seat. People were forced to stand in the aisle in front of me, and the person directly opposite me, whose butt was level with my head farted in my face. Twice. FML

That's a shame people have to be spiteful like that it's not like you can help your bad foot

Boohoo!! I've had a broken foot and ankle for 3 months and work 50+ hours a week on it. Unless you're way pregnant or old, you can stand. Whiney ass people!!!

Sorry bud. They got to the seats first. You have no right to moan about them not standing up for you, bad foot or no bad foot. If you were that desperate for a seat, you should've made sure to get there early.

You really are a piece of work. There are more than just a few reasons why op could have been delayed without having any control over whatsoever. And no right? Since don't you have the right to moan, everybody has that right, or does that fall outside the freedom of speech category? I would also consider it very rude if someone doesn't stand for someone else who can use the seat better. Over here, they at least have dedicated seats for disabled people.

Wow, a lot of the people commenting on this are assholes. The guy's injured and these people reacted rudely to him for needing extra time to get on board. It's common courtesy to let someone who is injured or struggling have a seat. Those of you saying he shouldn't expect them to give him one or that it's his own fault, you should be ashamed. I hope someone breaks your foot someday and then refuses to let you sit down after running for a train. Maybe then you'll understand.

Hey, at least they let you on the train. The other day I was running for a train and the lady with the sign signalled for the doors to close. While looking right at me. :(

Whenever I had to take the train home and there were no seats left, I'd just sit on the floor. I had to travel 45 minutes gone after college, I wasn't standing (strangers would also sit on the floor after seeing me do it).

People sometimes only care about themselves. Where I live it's illegal to not give up priority seating in that situation.
