Today, I rushed onto the metro to get to work. I found there were no seats left and asked a perfectly healthy guy to let me sit in the handicap spot. He refused to because "being tired" was a handicap characteristic. I have one leg. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, on my way to school, I was shouted at by an obnoxious businessman for sitting down on the train when a "full fare paying passenger" was standing. I would normally have given him the seat straight away, except I have a broken leg. I showed him my leg and crutches. He still made me get up. FML
Excuses
Today, a woman on the train demanded I give up my seat for her, claiming it was for people with disabilities. Tired from a long day at work, and seeing she had nothing wrong with her, I asked what her disability was. Apparently, obesity is one. FML
Asshat
Today, I got on the subway with a broken leg. A kind woman stood up and offered me her seat. Before I could sit down, a guy shoved past me and took it for himself. The woman and I pointed out my cast and crutches, and asked him to give up the seat. He responded by flipping us off. FML
Broke
Today, while sitting in a handicapped seat on the bus, an old man angrily approached me and chewed me out in front of everyone for not leaving the seat empty for "those who actually need it." Then he stormed off the bus, stepping heavily on my broken foot. FML
SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
Today, I got on a train and spotted a free seat. I rushed over, sat down and sighed with relief, only to realize people were looking at me. That’s when I saw the “Reserved for the elderly or disabled” sign…and the man with a cane standing in front of me. I immediately offered him the seat, but he just shook his head and said, “You’re gonna need it after this shaming.” FML
You tried
Today, I offered my seat to an elderly lady on the subway. She quietly refused. Minutes later on a sharp turn, she almost fell down on two people. As I was clearly the youngest in the disability seating section, everyone on the train turned and glared at me. FML
Taking a stand
Today, I had to run for the train, but because of my bad foot and limping they held the train, much to people's displeasure. No one let me sit down, so for the 20 minute journey, I stood. With a bad foot. FML
Today, a co-worker and I walked out of our office at the same time. He got in his car, which was parked right out front. I asked him what I had to do to get a sweet parking spot like that. He rolled up his pant leg and show me his prosthesis. He was in the handicapped spot. FML
Today, I told a guy he should be ashamed of himself for parking in a handicapped space. He hit me with his prosthetic leg. FML
Today, I gave up my seat on the subway for an elderly man. He thanked me by grabbing my ass. FML

Was it obvious, or did you have a prosthetic covered with pants?

you should assume that the person asking is disabled anyway. not all have visible disabilities.

He’ll just lie right back to you and say he lost his mom in 9/11. Mom trumps leg. That’s the rules of liars’ poker.

The guy was a douche nozzle!

If you were on your way to work, presumably you were not tired. Looks like a tough call for the priority of the seat. Is one leg, not tired > two legs, tired?

Dude, you really need to think before you type. Try not to offend anyone.
RichardPencil 32
What’s offensive? I just asked a question.

It literally is impossible now to not offend ANYONE. No matter what is said, someone somewhere will cry and take offense. Grow up and deal with it. It's called real life.
RichardPencil 32
Exactly! And nowadays being offended seems to be a popular hobby.

that's not the only reason to need a seat. balance, trouble standing, etc. also, some disabled people can't stand without getting dizzy but can walk just fine.

He could be a bag of dicks, or he could actually have that disorder where you randomly fall asleep at any time.

I think the handicapped spot is only reserved for people with physical disabilities

Any illness is a physical handicap. You can get a permit to park in handicap spots for certain illnesses.

If you have a prosthetic one, you should have taken it off and then asked "Well then, can my leg sit there?"

Seems kind of presumptuous of you to say he's a "perfectly healthy" guy.

I imagine two people suffering physical ailments, who probably look perfectly able-bodied from all outward appearances, silently cussing out the other as "not handicapped enough".

That's what I was thinking. I look healthy and can walk normally, but have many horrible back problems. This man could be in the same boat and just didn't want to explain.

he said he was tired. and no one else offered either.

I guess he was one step ahead of you....
RichardPencil 32
You should present the argument that you truly deserve the handicapped seat. He will lose that debate because he doesn't have a leg to stand on. Wait...

Dude, every one of your comments is just hilarious! They are always so funny and clever. Keep it up!

He seems upset that the guy sitting the seat had a leg up on him.
