Today, my daughter ran up to a librarian working in the kids section and screamed "MOMMY!" and hugged her. She looked at her and said "I'm not your mommy." My daughters reply: "I know. But you're better than mommy" FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, after spending time with my daughter and painting her nails she gives me a hug and says, "Mommy I love you, but I love daddy much better!" FML
Today, I have been teaching my 5 year-old step-daughter how to read and write. She came bounding up to me with a piece of paper and said, "look what I did". It was a letter that said "My dad misses my real mommy, not you". FML
Today, I explained to my 5 year old daughter that her older sister from my husband's first marriage lives with her mommy, and my daughter lives with us. She exclaimed, "It's not fair! I want two mommies like she has! Can we swap, I like her mommy better than you anyway!" FML
Today, I took my daughter to the library instead of the pool. I sat her on the counter and, while I reached for my library card, she turned to the librarian and said, "We didn't go to the pool today because Mum has hairy legs." FML
Today, I was in a grocery store when a little boy ran up out of nowhere, hugged my leg, then said, “Mommy!” I looked down and said, “Hey there, kiddo!” Right then, his actual mom walked up and gave me a look that seemed like it could set me on fire. The kid then looked up at me and said, “You’re prettier than my real mom.” FML
Today, as I was taking my three year-old daughter home from daycare, she asked where her daddy was. I tried to tell her that I was her father, but she answered, "No, not you! My other daddy!" I've got some talking to do tonight. FML
Today, my two year old daughter did not want to leave the toy store, when I picked her up she started screaming at the top of her lungs, "YOU'RE NOT MY DADDY!". FML
Today, my daughter told me that she liked her "other daddy" better. I don't know who's she talking about, but my wife is doing a good job telling her to be quiet. FML
Today, I went to pick up my daughter from preschool. When I got there, I ran to give her a hug. She screamed and ran away. FML
Today, at preschool, I got to meet the mother of my daughter's best friend. She complimented mine's grades, and noted her quirkiness. I complimented her's for being congenial and being well-rounded. Later, my daughter said they are no longer besties because her mom said I called her daughter fat. FML

Don't worry about it. Some kids just have people that they like to see. Maybe your librarian's really nice and so she's your daughter's favorite person. Either way, FYL

aw. This happened when my sister was little. She went up to our mom and said "look mom I love you but I love mrs moony more". (her preschool teacher) But don't stress my sister forgot all about it. I'm sure your daughter will too

kids don't lie. guess you need to work on your parenting skills. strangers own you in your own child's mind. wait, it's your own fault for having a child- kids are stupid and not even cute. it obviously doesn't even appreciate all that you do for it.

How does she deserve it? It seems more likely the kid would say they like another adult more than his/her parent if the parent disciplined him/her. And the person probably wasn't a stranger. She was working in the KIDS section of the library, so I would assume the daughter had seen/met/talked to her before. Kids don't usually think before they speak. She didn't know it would hurt you.
