Today, I was at the airport when I saw a woman drop her bags and run to her husband. Thinking that someone might steal them, I picked up her bags and brought them over to her. She thanked me by slapping me, calling me a bitch and calling security. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, while bagging my groceries at a store, a lady came over to me, took a good look at the food I'd bought, picked out an item and put it in her bag. When I confronted her, she called security on me and told them I wanted to steal her stuff. I got thrown out and she walked away with a smirk. FML
Today, I was standing in a queue when an old lady turned, looked straight at me, and asked me to hold her bag. Confused, I took a hold of it. She started screaming for help claiming I was stealing her shopping. Turns out, she was talking to her husband behind me. FML
Today, I helped an elderly woman carry her suitcase down a flight of stairs. When I got to the bottom, a man tackled me to the ground thinking I was stealing the woman's luggage. As I lay in pain, he ran up the stairs to return the suitcase and the poor woman had to carry it down on her own. FML
Today, I was walking through a rough part of town, when a woman screamed that I'd stolen her bag. I was tackled to the ground by a large guy, who then gave my bag to her. FML
Today, I saw a drunk woman drop her purse in the street. I picked it up and went to give it to her, only for her to scream at me for being a thief. Then she started crying, apologized and hugged me, then got angry again, and finally threw up on me. FML
Today, I was boarding a plane and an elderly woman asked if I could put her carry on into the overhead bin. Eager to help, I energetically lifted her bag up, and smacked her in the face with it. FML
Today, I tried to be helpful by holding the door open for a woman carrying boxes. She smiled and hurried toward me, then tripped and dropped everything at my feet. She stared at me like I'd caused it, and said, “Thanks” through clenched teeth. FML
Today, I saw a woman drop her wallet in the grocery store. Being a good citizen, I sprinted after her to return it. She heard me running, panicked and took off. I ended up chasing her through three aisles saying, “Wait! I have your wallet!” Security got involved. FML
Today, I was working as a cashier and a woman brought up a suitcase. As I was ringing her up I checked inside like I'm supposed to and I very jokingly say, "Look at all the stuff you're stealing." She laughed nervously then hit me in the head with her heavy purse before running out of the store. FML
Today, while at the mall, a lady dropped her credit card while in line to buy something. I came over, picked it up and gave it to her just for her to shove it in my hand and scream, "She's stealing my wallet! My wallet!" The police came. FML

Honestly, I think op deserved it. He or she probably ruined that couples reunion, and the woman could have had a surprise in the bags that she dropped, and might have asked the husband to pick them up. Yeah, maybe that's my romantic side talking, but on the practical note, I'd be really annoyed if someone I didn't even know handled my luggage and ruined a meeting with someone I cared about. Maybe that makes me a jerk. Oh well. =)

Unattended bags tend to cause problems in airports, and some people are far too self absorbed to see when someone is actually doing them a favour; obviously you're one of those people, airport safety and security is far more important than your 'romantic reunions'. FYL OP, it's a shame people like this actually exist, she didn't deserve your help.

49 - Lol. You make assumptions about me based on an opinion I have? Can't you see it from any other way? Maybe her husband is in the military, she hasn't seen him in forever, breaks down emotionally. Now, before you call me an idiot again, I'm just giving a scenario, not saying this actually happened. Yeah, the woman acted extremely, but again, would you feel comfortable with some random stranger handling your luggage? If you can say yes to that question, have fun in life. And yes, this will get downvoted, but I don't care and would rather have my opinion heard. (btw when I made that last comment, I had woken up at 6 in the morning with an ungodly headache, so I probably sounded snappy.)

#82 typically when you go to airports people you don't know are handling the luggage. The people who take them and weigh them, the people that put it on and off the plane.

I wholeheartedly agree that from OP's perspective it was unjust, but I would not have been 100% comfortable if someone did that for me. Sure I'd probably have been slightly grateful but by the same token it might've been slightly suspicious. Good deeds can't be THAT rare, though. Can they?
