Today, I was at dance rehearsal. As a male dancer I like to keep the fact that I dance a secret because of the stupid stereotypes male dancers have. This plan was quickly shot down when I discovered I was performing at my school. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was at a wedding and I reluctantly joined the dance floor. As soon as I started dancing, I felt my trousers rip. Trying to save face, I kept dancing, hoping no one would notice. A few minutes later, I realized my silk boxer shorts were completely visible to the entire party. FML
Today, my boss caught me singing and dancing in the office when I thought no one was around. Trying to save face, I told him I was just practicing for a team-building event. He smiled and said, "Great, you can lead the next one." Now I have to choreograph a team-building dance. FML
Today, I was pretending to be a ballerina. I was dancing around my room, making a complete dick of myself. I eventually caught sight of a pair of guys grinning and filming me with their cellphones through my window. FML
Today, I was at a ballet recital with my friend, sitting between her and the mother of the head male ballerina. When he came on stage in obscenely tight white tights I whispered to my friend, "You can see his whole freaking package!" I'd whispered to the wrong side. FML
Today, while I was on stage dancing for a competition dress rehearsal, my top fell off, exposing my breasts. I was really embarrassed, but fortunately no one said anything about it. That is until a kid in the audience came up to me and said, "That was a disappointment." FML
Today, while dancing at my studio, our instructor was giving us all characters opposite of ourselves to portray in an improv solo. My friends got cool things like "creepy" and "vulnerable". I got "extremely sexy". FML
Today, I joined a dance class to impress my girlfriend. Halfway through, I realized I had two left feet. The instructor asked me to demonstrate a simple move, and instead I tripped on the mat, fell into another dancer, and took her down with me. I’ve been banned from all future classes. FML
Today, in dance class we did a choreography where we wear two shirts and take one off in one quick motion. After I took mine off, the audience goes "aaah". Then I realize that I had taken both my shirts off as stood there with only my bra on. I was being videotaped. FML
Today, I was at a party and I danced. Judging by people's stares, I should never ever attempt it again. FML
Today, I went to a party. I tried dancing in public for the first time ever. Judging by the whispers, stares, and giggles, I'm never doing it again. FML

I know how OP feels. Male dancer. I got over it after a while though and now use it to pick up women and ignore harassment. I do get called a fairy a lot though, despite being 6'4"

Yes, definitely. Being a dancer is nothing to be ashamed of. When my friend was diagnosed a male dancer, he was proud of it and didn't let out affect his life in any way.

I agree! Embrace your "not so cool" hobbies and you'll get less stick for it. When I tell people I still like to build stuff with lego in my spare time most are ok with it. Some people even think it's cool! And for the people who try to take the piss I remind them about my other hobbies - shooting and collecting knives. ;)

Maybe it's where I'm from, but male dancers are incredibly popular here. Us female dancers go a bit crazy when we meet male dancers, because we can talk to a potential mate about something that inspires us. Plus they get to spend a lot time with a bunch of attractive females. Embrace it OP, if anyone has a problem with it who cares, it's their problem, not yours.

Embrace it! I'm ashamed that I don't like to dance, one of the reasons because I don't know how to, sucks because my bf would love to go dancing. Unless you're gay, you could surprise a girl (in a very good way) to go out dancing.
