Just a term of endearment
Today, I had the cops called on me because I accidentally texted, "I'm going to kill you and use your head as a hood ornament" to my ex-fiancé, instead of my best friend. I only texted that because he got a better grade on an exam than me. Now I have a court date. FML

So, this seems to be a common "FML" theme, but how in the hell do you 'accidentally' text someone? Maybe my phone is just awesome, but i find it quite impossible to text the wrong person... >.>

It's easy in most phones. Especially when they're touch screen because your fingers slip all the time!

General carelessness?

My phone is glitchy. Sometimes I click on a conversation with one person, and it brings me to a completely different conversation. I've sent a few texts to the wrong number because I was being careless and didn't read the last bit of the conversation. Luckily, they were all pretty innocent.

OK, I must admit, I lol'd. This is awesome. Not the court date and police, but your threat! I'm so saying that to someone next time I get pissed! #2 - I agree!

#2 - Normally includes alcohol. Also a lot of people just get into a routine, if it's a very recent break up: chances are his fiance was the person he texted most, so it's almost like a reflex to select them in the phonebook. I've done it before, but somehow managed to text the person I intended to text, and my ex girlfriend. Was very odd.

EPIC FAIL.

#2, I've done it before too (only a few times, but it's happened). Especially if the person you accidentally texted is right above/below the person you meant to text in your address book. Once I tried to text "Brad (my brother) is being a douche" to my best friend. Unfortunately I was thinking "Brad" instead of my friend's name, and sent the text to him. Fail. Lol

I have "recently sent contacts" option on my phone. Far too many times I texted the wrong person. Thank God it wasn't anything serious like this though. I laughed at your diss, too, because it sounds like something I would say to my best friend.

If it's like my phone, he may have a list of people you've recently texted. I've had some close calls... no FML stories, but very close calls.

My husband and my husband's friend are right next to each other alphabetically, his friend first. I have clicked too fast and texted (?) things to my husband's friend that he shouldn't have seen. It happens.
