Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I bailed my brother out of jail for violating a restraining order filed against him by his ex. I dropped him off at the place he told me he was staying at. Turned out it was his ex's house, and now he's in jail again. FML
Today, I had to bail my drunk husband out of jail after he and his best friend tried to steal a police horse from an officer. FML
Today, my ex got arrested for stealing. His new girlfriend texted me asking if I could lend her money to bail him out. FML
Today, I had to bail my husband out from jail for almost killing someone. What happened? He and my sister-in-law were in an grocery store when she spotted his old high school nemesis, who back then was the biggest bully in school. She thought that it would be "exciting" to see what would happen if their paths crossed again. FML
Today, I had to go get my fiancé's car so it wouldn't get impounded after he was arrested at 12 a.m. and charged with a felony. I just got out of prison in March, and we get married next week. FML
Today, the girl my ex-husband cheated on me with, and left me for, called me and asked for money to bail him out of jail. She asked me because I have my own business and I'm financially stable. FML
Today, my now ex-boyfriend called me from jail, expecting me to bail him out. He'd tried to buy a load of booze at the liquor store and came up short by ten cents. The cashier refused to be short-changed, and he figured the only reasonable reaction was to punch her in the face. FML
Today, my husband called me in the middle of the morning. He was in jail and wanted me to bail him out. Not only was he stupid enough to go drunk drag-racing with his buddies, their route took them straight past the front of the local police precinct. FML
Today, my husband's ex-girlfriend is getting a restraining order on him. Turns out, for the past 2 years of our marriage, he has been trying to contact her and ditching work to stalk her. To top it all off, he told me not to come to court with him because he doesn't want her to see he downgraded. FML
Today, I had to bail my husband out of jail. It turns out that in the Black Friday rush, he beat a guy up just so he could get his hands on the last of a heavily-discounted item. The item in question: a toaster. FML

And you did this why? Doesn't seem like your problem to me.

Your ex needs to grow a pair. If his wife finds out on her own she'll be a lot more mad than if he just told her

That's something.

You didn't "have to".

Your FML should be " Today, I found out how stuck on my ex husband I am. I protected him from his new wife finding out he was in jail by bailing him out. FML"

Not only that, but he shouldn't be calling his ex-wife for that. Part of being married and taking all of those vows means that you're supposed to have a built in best friend who will come bail your ass out of jail if need be. He/she is the person you're supposed to rely on, not your ex-spouse/SO. And I can't imagine that his wife will be pleased to find out who he called to bail him out when she does eventually learn the truth. She'll be even more pissed.

I think OP should now inform her Ex's new wife what just happened, then sit back with popcorn and watch the show.

She needs to grow a pair and tell him where to go, not bail him out.

My ex weds, are still friends at the least, my parents are divorced and they get along just fine, just be some couples split up for at mean they hate each other
tantanpanda 26
yea, it was kind of OP's fault for feeling the need to "have to" bail out her ex.
Solano2580 24
Maybe she has to pay Alimony/Child Support and he struck a deal with her or something

16 that was the most incoherent thing I have a ever read

39, From my interpretation I think they were saying that just because some couples split up doesn't mean that they hate each other

My ex is my best friend (we even still live together though I'm guessing that isn't the cas for OP) I'd bail him out of jail if he asked, however I'd do it because I'd want to not "have to" but if he had another serious partner I would advise him to come clean with her. These things have a way of getting out and she'll be more pissed if she finds out on her own than if he told her

I assume you had a very good reason for actually doing it... Right?
bigred6693 12
You're a very sad person... And so is he... Why did you ever break up?
Blackbiker_fml 7
No, it's the other way around actually. OP is a very cool person for being so generous and her ex obviously has a tiny pecker and a giant wuss.

So? Sounds like his problem..

You didn't "have" to do anything. It's his fault he was in jail in the first place.
brownapple 22
Why would you do that? If he's done something that wrong she should know about it.
Fgjvshnb 22
FYL OP, leave him!
Rkikkas9713 25
Reread the FML. It's her ex husband.
brownapple 22
I'd suggest you to read the FML again.
Fgjvshnb 22
Leave him at the jail, is what i meant!
Rkikkas9713 25
Why is this an FML on your part? You weren't forced to bail him out and he obviously deserved whatever he was in there for. You're hurting his wife too by keeping that from her. Nobody made you bail him out, so you did this to yourself. YDI
