Today, I had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night. Even though they know I don't have any money, let alone shoes on my feet, my parents have decided it's far too much trouble to come pick me up because we're on vacation and they want to have fun. FML
Collection
Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my family and I were just about to leave the house for the vacation that I had been saving up for 3 years. I was coming down the stairs with a heavy suitcase and I tripped and fell breaking my leg, now my family's gone without me while I'm in hospital. I paid for the vacation. FML
Party girl
Today, I was at my friend's birthday party, dancing barefoot because my feet hurt from my shoes' heels. Apparently, someone dropped a glass on the dancefloor and didn't warn anybody. I ended up having to drive myself to the emergency room because all my friends were "having too much fun to leave." FML
Today, I went to the emergency room for a broken collarbone. This wouldn’t be so bad if my parents hadn’t paid $20,000 for me to go to a snowboarding academy all winter. Today was day one. FML
How about no?
Today, my parents told me that I'm going on our upcoming family vacation and that's final. I broke both my legs in an accident and have to use a wheelchair. I"m in constant pain and don't want to go anywhere. FML
Snark
Today, I fell down a flight of stairs at college. I was taken to hospital with a fractured ankle and had to call my parents to drive me home. They constantly made passive-aggressive remarks on the way home, because I'd "totally ruined" their plans to eat out at a fancy restaurant tonight. FML
Bad mom
Today, my daughter's school called to inform me that I needed to bring her some sneakers. Not feeling like driving the 15 minutes to her school, I told them I was away from town. Then I realized I was on my house phone. FML
Cut short
Today, after working two jobs and saving constantly this year all for a month-long solo vacation traveling to 7 countries, I arrived in first one. Within three hours I fell and broke my foot, forcing me to come home in fear of needing surgery. FML
Drunk and stupid
Today, I drove 10 hours on a broken foot to get away, because my drunk dad decided to shove me to the ground multiple times, and now I have to get fusion surgery on my foot. I also found out he’s trying to get me arrested for burglary. FML
Out of control
Today, I'm sitting in the ER with my boyfriend because he decided to run over my foot with his new fancy bike. I think my foot's broken. We can't afford the bike, much less the ER bill with it. FML
Thanks mom
Today, it's my third day in the hospital. On Monday, my mother grounded me for not going to school because I was “milking” a sore foot. On Wednesday, we finally went to the ER and it turns out I have a very bad infection in my foot. She refuses to come to the hospital. FML

What the actual **** is wrong with them

Have your own party/vacation in the hospital with other patients and when they finally come to get you tell them they aren't invited. Also, wear the hospital bill as a party hat.

Some parents are just pure bastards and dastardly inconsiderate. My girlfriend's parents want her to marry an Italian.. why? Not because they give two ***** about her happiness but because they love italian wine.

Then tell them to back off and save their money.

We also don't know what the familial situation is behind it. OP could go to the ER for every little sniffle (and may be why there's no money). My sister in law has driving away both her family and my family because she's constantly lying about having diseases and saying she's going to the hospital and is going to "die any day now." It's straight up Munchhausens. You feel like an asshole, but you do it to protect your own sanity.

That's a bit of a reach in this situation, 27...

Because no one ever lies on the internet to make themselves the victim.

You even said she has a mental illness.. So why does no one get her help?

As the saying goes: You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. We have tried absolutely everything we know to do, but you can't change someone who doesn't want to be changed.

That's very rude of your parents. Hope you're okay.

I like the way you're thinking!

...OP, how old are you? Because if you are under eighteen, or whatever country you live in's age of majority, you need to find someone to report this to. Because if you are under age of majority, that sounds disturbingly like neglect.

Op voluntarily emphasized the lack of shoes on his/her feet in order to show exactly how poor they are... It sounds like to me, and I might be way off base, that the OP has a slight over exaggeration problem. When you take in to consideration that hypochondriacs are simply exaggerators, it could be believed that OP has pulled stunts like this before and they know this...

@9 8 seems to think op is lying and is essentially calling BS Though real talk 8, if op was rushed to the hospital without the chance to grab shoes, why the hell would they have thought to grab cash?

It seems vacation is more important than children...

I'm interested in what kind of thinking goes on in their mind. Picking you up doesn't seem like that much of an inconvenience.
