Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my 4-year-old son cut half of my hair when I was asleep because he thought I would look better that way. FML
Today, I woke up to the sound of scissors. My mom was cutting my hair while I was asleep. FML
Today, I found my 6 year-old daughter upstairs, lying on the floor with scissors. She was giving, "the carpet a haircut." FML
Today, my daughter decided to wake me up by putting the vacuum in my hair and turning it on. FML
Today, my daughter hugged me around the neck and whispered, "I'm going to cut your head off." I'm afraid to go to sleep now. FML
Today, my little sister used scissors she got from school to cut my hair in the middle of the night while I was asleep. Now it looks like someone went at my hair with a chainsaw, and my school's dress code doesn't allow me to wear a hat or anything else to cover it up. FML
Today, my mum started yelling at me for leaving scissors on my desk, which my five year-old sister found and chopped all her hair off. She had a lump of hair as proof. After three minutes of her yelling, me crying and apologizing, she laughed and said she was joking. She'd just given my sister a haircut. FML
Today, I got my 9 year-old daughter back from a sleepover at my mum's. My 17 year-old niece was also staying there at the same time, and heard my daughter complaining that her fringe was in her eyes. My niece decided to cut my daughter's hair. There are now chunks missing and it's all uneven. No one asked my permission. FML
Today, my little sister thought it'd be cool to pierce my nose while I was asleep. FML
Today, I let my friend cut my hair and after a few minutes, she looked at what she had done and then she ran out of the room, laughing. FML

Your four-year-old has scissors to hand and is unsupervised while you're sleeping? Neither are good ideas.

If you think about it, so is the silverware drawer. ;)

If you would have been supervising your child and not laying around sleeping it wouldn't have happened. You're lucky the only thing that happened was your cut hair. Your irresponsibility could have killed your child. Imagine she tripped and fell on the scissors and they stabbed her through her eye. Not so funny anymore, is it?

Hey guys! The OP here! Just a couple of comments I MUST address, so like Kel says, "awww, here goes!" (clears throat): ~ #51, What the blue hell are you talking about? I don't want to know...really.don't.want.to.know. :/ ~They were SAFETY scissors. And my husband was there, in the house, laughing his ass off at me. (Thanks babe:) ) Maybe I should've mentioned that but then again, I was too tired. Look what time it was. It happened at around 10:35-40 in the morning and I wrote it at 10:45am and went back to sleep for the next 3.5 hours. Go figure. ~ I work at night as a hospital mortician...which goes with what I said in the aforementioned. Not the most glamourous of jobs, but oh well! ~ As a result, I did go to my cousin (who's a beautician) and it is now as short as Kate Gosselin. Ok, not like that, I'm lying. It's short like a boyish cut and my daughter thinks its cute. I guess my daughter saved me SOME money. lol. ~ Yes, she did get her punishment: no ice cream. Last but not least, I must address this since I saw a couple, "YDI for having kids," etc. al. I love my child and the one thing you should never do is piss a mother off. At least THIS mother. For the asses who said I deserve it for having a child, f**k you and kiss my ass. There are other things to worry about in the world! Thanks for reading! .ele.

OP you are awesome. I love your reply here. FYL for sure, but from one mommy to another: you're gonna have that story to tell FOREVER, and you double-win anyway, because you have a child and kids are the icing on the cake in this world. Mine are the best thing that have ever happened to me. :)

you should of never had to reply to justify yourself here.. people who dont have kids dont-have-a-clue. i have a 1 year old and made a horrifying discovery that she was hopping the baby gate first thing in the *morning* and walking down the stairs just like we do, one hand on the railing. anything is possible..
