Then you live in a trash place. My sister’s ex sent nudes to at least two of my other siblings’ phones as revenge for something. He was charged and convicted for sending them to all three of us as minors, and I didn’t even have a phone at the time. Of course, that’s in the Bible Belt anyway, and he was middle Eastern so....

This does not really appear to be an FML but more of an active crime. This is probably not the right forum for such a story as you actively need to take legal advice in the country you live in and probably seek a restraining order against the individual to prevent him contacting you or your brother. Once one is obtained then the police can act in such instances, in fact they are obligated to do so. You need to do that urgently.

we've set out for restraining orders and have a PI and state police looking for my mom. They said since he made threats over the internet, they can't technically prove it was him so they won't charge him which is total bullshit

Contact a detective ,if you live in the United States call the State Police ,if you live in England call Scotland Yard, if you live in Canada call the mounties they're obligated by law to look into missing persons cases.
