Don't let the bastards grind you down
Today, I heard a radio ad for the new anti-bullying efforts at a local middle school. The speaker in the ad was the school counselor… who was also my bully in high school. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I bullied a kid at school, just so someone would talk to me. FML
Today, I found out that when I thought the bullying had finally stopped, the bullies had actually been sponsored to be nice for charity. FML
Today, my former high school bully became my manager. FML
Today, I had to attend a meeting with my parents, my teacher, and my bully and his parents. When we started, my bully "broke down" and "tearfully" told the teacher that I was the one bullying him, and that he was getting blamed to cover it all up. They believed him. FML
Today, I stumbled upon a few of my former uni classmates’ social media profiles, all sharing anti-bullying posts and adding sad comments. Really thoughtful of them, if you ignore the fact that these same classmates bullied me relentlessly during my college years, causing me to take antidepressants daily. FML
Today, I was made fun of at work by my mom and my supervisor. I work at a kids' anti-bullying camp. FML
Today, the person who bullied me throughout my childhood eventually resulting in me going to therapy and switching schools became my boss. On top of that, he refers to me by the insulting nickname he called me during childhood. It's good to see that growing up hasn't changed him at all. FML
Today, I finally stood up for myself and beat the crap out of a bully at school, as my father told me to do. The kid and I were called to the principal's office, along with our parents. Inside my father's smirk faded when he saw that the kid's mom was his boss. FML
Today, my sister announced that she had gotten engaged. I was happy for her until I found out she's marrying the guy who relentlessly bullied me all through high school. FML
Today, my 4-year-old daughter stood up to a bully in the mall. I was the one who was getting bullied. FML

They probably got bullied into doing it. Bullies are often victims also and pass on the shit that gets dumped on them to those they think are weaker than them.

Bullies often get cured with a very effective therapy. . .getting the shit knocked out of them.

“Physician, heal thyself.” People often go into fields dealing with issues they struggled with earlier in life. It’s possible he recognizes the error of his ways, but it sure would be nice if he reached out and apologized to you.

Did it not occur to you that perhaps he's changed his ways? Maybe you need to let it go.

good to know you think people can't change. keep that in mind next time you do something dumb.

People change? We want people to change, but then we hold them to what they were like before, or what they said before like it makes them a hypocrite for wanting to be or being a better person than they were before.

OP, perhaps it's time to politely "confront" him in person to see if he's truly mended his ways and now regrets his high-school bullying to hopefully grant you peace of mind....
