Today, in a department store, a woman with a parrot sitting on her shoulder was trying to return a coffee maker. She explained that she had to return the coffee maker because the bird didn't like it sitting on the kitchen counter. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, a man next to me was feeding the birds when he ran out of food. We were at Adventure Island and there were "Do not feed the birds" signs everywhere. The birds then became aggressive and started savaging the both of us. FML
Today, as I waited to fly home, a very attractive woman smiled and gestured towards the seat next to me. However, a hyperactive child and his mother barged past into said empty seats. The woman really hit it off with the guy behind, while I was stuck listening to a kid scream at Angry Birds. FML
Today, I was having my morning coffee while getting ready for work. I grabbed clothes off the floor to throw in the hamper. I accidentally threw my full coffee instead. FML
Today, I learned how birds feel when they fly into windows. I should be getting the hospital bill for my broken nose in the mail soon. FML
Today, I took my printer to work because the one in my office is broken. When I tried to leave, my boss stopped me and accused me of stealing it from the office. Nobody would believe me when I explained. Now my boss has a new printer. FML
Today, I accidentally threw a glass of iced tea in my own face, because the restaurant I'd been going to for over a decade switched from heavy glass mugs to identical light-as-a-feather plastic mugs. FML
Today, due to "severe cuts to the budget" at work, I had to stir my coffee with a paperclip. FML
Today, I got on the bus to go to work. I managed to get a seat, but an old lady who looked tired had to stand. I offered her my seat, but she glared at me, frowned and said, "Go fuck yourself." Everyone laughed as I sat there in dismay. FML
Today, I was talking with a very attractive coworker outside when a moth flew into my ear. I started screaming and hitting my ear because it was stuck and alive in my ear. I spent the rest of the day at the ER. I'm forever known as The Moth Lady. FML
Today, my family went on vacation. I had to stay home to take care of everyone's animals. I called my mom, who said she was too busy to talk to me. When my sister asked her who was on the phone, she replied, "The dog sitter." FML

As someone who is around parrots a lot. They can get very terrified of various objects sitting around. And when they panic and crash into a wall, it can hurt them greatly and lead to expensive vet bills quickly, or worse, the bird dying from the impact. So for the well being of the Animal and the owner's wallet. I can fully Understand this.

Exotic birds are super high maintenance, so a bird owner returning things for the sake of their pet isn't really strange. I've also worked in customer service and returns and this isn't anywhere close to the kind of weird stories I'd get from customers about why they wanna return something. I wouldn't say YDI. But if there was a "This could have happened to me/anyone" button, I would have pressed it.

I agree, birds are high maintenance and if the owner just returned stuff, that wouldn't be strange. The funny part of this story is how the bird is *with* her at the store.

I have had birds my whole life. Things can freak them out like this, but they get used to it over time. You just have to put up with the yelling for a while. Can't let the bird dictate your life.
