Last call, bad decisions and 3 a.m. texts you'll regret until noon. Cheers.
Today, my soon-to-be mother-in-law decided that she is going to be in charge of planning my wedding. All decisions must be approved by her, and anything she doesn't like will be thrown out. She also wants to go on our honeymoon with us to make sure I don't "defile" her son. FML
Today, my mother-in-law became my boss. FML
Today, I was talking to my future mother-in-law about my upcoming wedding. She told me that I wasn't allowed to have the wedding at a church, nor wear a white dress, nor have roses for flowers, because that would mean I'd be "copying" her. FML
Today, my future mother-in-law finally admitted that I'm "not the girl for her son" and that she will do anything to break us up. FML
Today, marks the sixth day in a row that my mum has called me to discuss my upcoming wedding. She's obsessed and has intimidated the actual planner I hired into going along with her plans. She's slipped up twice already and accidentally referred to it as her own wedding. Just great. FML
Today, six weeks before my wedding, my mother decided to claim that she never agreed on paying for it and that she doesn't think she will. Now I have six weeks to scavenge enough cash for the wedding she planned in the first place. FML
Today, I called my mom to make sure she could attend on the wedding day my fiancé and I had discussed. She started off with criticizing the venue we considered, then went on to criticize my fiancé, and then stated she would under no circumstances help out, but demanded to pick my wedding dress. FML
Today, a week after my fiancé and I got engaged, his mother is already complaining that she isn't involved enough in the wedding arrangements. We haven't even set a date yet. FML
Today, I found out my daughter was planning a wedding and invited everyone but me. FML
Today, I'm getting married. A few months ago, I allowed my mother in-law to take care of catering. She begged to be a part of the wedding, so I gave her the caterer's number and order info. It appears that I will not be eating at my own wedding because she decided to order food I'm allergic to. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

Have a smaller wedding and tell her that you can't accept her help if it's conditional. This isn't the way to start a marriage, with her asserting her authority over your decisions.

The OP said that her mother-in-law is "putting money into the wedding," which doesn't mean she's paying for it entirely. In fact, the OP and her fiancé could be paying for most of it, and the mother-in-law could just be a nosy bitch, thinking that since she's contributing SOME money, then she gets to make all the decisions. OP, go tell her to F herself.

Then you tell her no. Allocate her money to specific parts of the wedding that you don't mind her participating in, then if she tries to control any other part of the wedding you can point out she is not paying for it so it's none of her business. My MIL was not too bad but she was insistent on wanting all the extra trappings like chair covers, a special gift-table tablecloth (seriously, a plain white wedding cloth would have done). I pretty much said no, they're not important and I'm not spending hundreds of dollars on that, but then she said she'd pay for it. So I thought what the heck?

It's still incorrect written language.

You deserve it. Your fault if you let this woman run your arrangements now. Because soon she'll want to go to your ultrasound appointments, check your mail before you can, name your children, and try to convince your husband that you're not taking care of him the way he "should" be. MAN UP and let this woman know that you're not about to let YOUR day become her second chance...
