Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my grandad smacked me on the back of the head, and told me to, "Act like a goddamn man and stop crying." It was at the funeral of my mum and sister, who both died in a car crash. FML
Today, my wife caught me crying over her miscarriage and she started yelling and screaming at me to "man up" because she should be the sad one, not me. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me at my grandma's funeral. FML
Today, while at my aunt's funeral, my grandma who has terrible memory loss asked me whose funeral we were at. I had to explain to her that her daughter had died. FML
Today, my girlfriend gave me a speech on me "not being manly enough". I started crying. FML
Today, I went to my grandfather's funeral. As I stood there, bawling my eyes out, my aunt came over and put her arm around me. She leaned her head close to mine. I assumed she was going to say something comforting. Instead she asked where I'd bought my shoes from. FML
Today, I overheard my daughter compliment my mother by saying "My mom is way flabbier than you, Grandma." When I told her later that she hurt my feelings, she told me to "man up." She's seven. FML
Today, I called my boyfriend to have a shoulder to cry on because my grandpa died. As soon as I told him, he started crying and telling me how much he missed his grandmother, who died six years ago. I spent the majority of the phone call listening to him wail. FML
Today, after my cousin recently died, my aunt basically told me that I shouldn't be sad, because we fought. FML
Today, while grieving over the loss of my Grandpa, I called my girlfriend for comfort. After I had cheered up, she said, "Don't worry, he went to Hell anyway." FML

Sorry for your loss. No matter how much of a man you are, crying at a funeral does not mean you're weak. Especially if it's someone close like a grandmother.

It's okay to cry, especially under these circumstances. Whoever tells you otherwise can go to hell. I'm sorry for your loss OP

"I'll have you know I stubbed my toe while water my spice garden and I only cried for 20 minutes" --words from a true man. Crying is ok.

It's really sad how men are told not to show emotion. It's damaging.

That's what you get for acting like a human OP everyone knows you have to be a man if you're a man.

I think you mean that you have to show no emotion and be cold hearted to be a man.

Every real man isn't afraid to show his true feelings , even crying, Maybe they should man up and show their emotions instead of being a robot eithno emotions

There's no need to man up. Whoever asked you to do so needs to stop using such an annoying cliche.
