Today, I noticed a customer looking for expired products in hopes of receiving a coupon from my store. I told them to let me know if they found anything. They promptly began following me around, telling me how to do my job, only to later file a complaint saying that I was harassing them. FML

Today, a customer filed a formal complaint with corporate about me, because I wouldn't help her find things she wanted while I was off the clock. We were in a completely different store than the one where I actually work. FML
Today, my boss showed me a two-page letter from a customer, complaining about me because I couldn't honor a coupon that expired in 2009. He agreed that I did the right thing by refusing it, but said it would be a black mark on my record anyway due to the complaint. FML
Today, I received my first customer complaint. It said, "I am a regular customer and when I come in, he is always smiling and tells me he will see me soon when I leave. This makes me feel very uncomfortable." Now I'm under investigation for sexual harassment. FML
Today, a customer called the restaurant I work at to ask if our coupons were always valid, or if they expired on the expiration date printed on them. FML
Today, I saw an elderly woman struggling to reach the top shelf in my local grocery store, so I went over and asked if she needed help. She then accused me of flirting with her and had me escorted from the property. FML
Today, a customer yelled at me so furiously that she sprayed my face with spittle. I had to stand there, smiling and politely explaining that I needed to see a receipt before I could give her a refund. When she finally gave up and left, my boss bitched me out for "provoking the customer". FML
Today, a customer filed a complaint against me because my coworker took too long to do a price check. I hate my job. FML
Today, at my store, I had an old man violently accuse me of charging him for an extra pack of 99¢ Mounds candy yesterday. He held up my line for 10 minutes, fighting me about it. I didn't even work yesterday. FML
Today, I was verbally harassed by a customer because I wouldn’t give her special treatment after her meal was incorrect. I offered her a refund and a coupon for a free meal, which she refused before calling me a stupid kid who wouldn’t do anything to help her. FML
Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML

Why? Working retail can be a lot of fun. I love my job, and have a lot fun. Sure, I get some assholes in my store, but it's more fun than not.

What did the customer say to the manager? Hi I'd like to file a complaint about Itsdezzz, they can't do their job. So I had to follow Itsdezz around and tell them how they should do their job, even though they seem to know what they're doing.

I used to work in the bakery department of a store (my title was cake decorator but I did everything else as well) and we would get people who would drop the cakes we made on purpose. Or they would give the container a little shake, just enough to smudge the icing or destroy the decorations we put on them. Then they had the ******* gall to ask for a discount. We weren't allowed to give discounts unless the product was on its last few days on the shelf so we would check the date and just be like, "Sorry, it's still fresh so we can't discount it. But if you like, we can find you one that isn't smudged, or make you a new one." Lots of very angry reactions to that >:) One other thing they did was try to peel off the discount stickers of other items and put them on fresher products. Like, "Buddy, the edges are curled and torn. We're not stupid."

I used to work in the deli department of a store and people would try to peel discount stickers and put them on different things as well...sigh.
