Catfished

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I sent a guy that I like a lot a picture of myself. I'd got all dressed up sexy and did my make-up. He sent me a reply saying, "Your cat is fat." FML
Today, I had to explain to my friend that the hot girl he's been sending nudes to and cybering with for the past month is probably a bored, fat-as-fuck, balding male living in his mum's basement. The look on his face after I proved that "her" pictures were fake broke my heart. FML
Today, after months of talking to this guy on Instagram and convinced this was a sure thing, he wanted proof I was real and not catfishing him. I sent him a picture of me holding a paper with his username. He replied, “Sorry, I didn’t know you were a big girl. I need a healthy girl who takes care of herself.” FML
Today, I finally exchanged pictures with the woman I've been seeing online for some time now. She replied, saying "Thats not funny. Some people actually look like that." I sent my real picture, and thought I actually looked pretty good in it. FML
Today, the man of my dreams who I met online and have been exchanging messages with day and night for weeks asked the dreaded question: “Can you send me a full body pic?” It’s been 5 years since I had a guy hit me up. I weigh 300 lbs and look like a potato with legs. I don’t wanna lose him. FML
Today, I met a guy online. We talked all night long and hit it off amazingly. He told me he'd never felt that way about anyone else, and I agreed. He sent me a picture and he was gorgeous. I sent him one after he assured me he didn't care what I looked like. I haven't heard from him since. FML
Today, I asked a girl from Bumble for a full body pic. She was obese, so I told her it wasn’t gonna work. She then sent a video of her in real time looking slim and told me that picture was from when she was obese, and she'd sent that picture as a “test of my character” and she’s “better off without someone so judgy.” FML
Today, and for the 6th time, I sent a potential suitor a full body picture. I usually get ghosted or called a plethora of fatshaming names. This time around the guy told me, “Wow. I’d kill myself if I had that body.” I’ve been single for 4 years and no matter how hard I try to find love, this happens. FML
Today, I showed my boyfriend a picture of me in what I thought was a sexy skintight dress. He responded by saying "it's ok, I went through a pudgy stage too". The picture was from Saturday night. FML
Today, my boyfriend sent me a text that said, "I can't be seen with you anymore. You're too fat." FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?

So this guy was some one you had never met or seen before... why would you just assume he was hot?!

Darwinian evolution - We look for those who appear to be fit and healthy (i.e. not overweight) because they are the mates with whom we will be able to populate the world and continue our species. Not such a bad thing in the overall scheme of the continuation of mankind.

And as for the "Now send me one of you so I can prove to all of my friends that you're real." thing, it just proves that he has a bad social life, and due to his unattractiveness, he hasn't managed to get a girlfriend till now, that is why nobody believes him when he tells them about OP, so he just wants to prove it to them by showing them her picture. FHL again.

FYL for finding out the truth behind the deception, I was a victim at one point in time. YDI for not doing your research and believing everything you hear on the internet. At least you got the proof (now) and will be more careful next time. I'm Jerry Springer, until next time take care of yourself, and each other.

ugh same happened to me when i was like 14, we talked on the phone and he sounded "hot" so i assumed he was.. turned out to be a fat and ugly dude who sits at his comp 24/7 in the dark. never chatted with random online people again. (i dont judge guys too much about appearance or body but i prefer guys who are somewhat athletic and move their ass u know, everyone has their type)
NorfolkDude 2
YDI for being shallow. I mean if you find the guy delightful, then why would you care about his weight? I mean yes, he's fat and ugly to you, but perhaps to him he's Fabio. My only thoughts are if you have a lot in common with this guy, then perhaps you should think about looking past the looks and finding true love. However, if he lied to you, then perhaps you should stay away from him. Fat people are known to be greedy and desperate. Heck one time I saw a fat kid steal a baby's ice cream and shoved it (no wait inhaled it) in like just one second. I never seen anything more disgusting. But yeah, fat people are greedy, selfish, evil and unclean. I mean that is why they're fat, you know?

Probably a former fatso who got a stomach band ^^
Flutist 3
Because being a internet evangelist makes you seem like such a catch? Don't call people you don't know evil. Was the fat person you saw mentally ill? Anyways, woot you saw one jackass fatass, not all fat people are like that. Some people labelled fat aren't even. They are just bigger than size zero.

The point of my comment was that NorfolkDude was probably just bitter about weight issues he may have had in the past, thus enhancing your idea that he was more likely to be “evil”. Why do I always have to spell it out?! He might have had weight issues, but I have no idea what your problem is…probably narcissism?

Am I the only one who gets the impression that that last paragraph was 100% sarcasm?

Response to #47 (and props to comedian Jimmy Carr): Obese Lady - "You should stop telling your fat jokes. They make you fatist." Jimmy - "No, I believe you're fatest."

Oh, there was no doubt in my mind that it was sarcasm, #73. I was confused at first to see people taking it seriously.

You are a bad person! I'm fat but extremely clean and smell good all the time. I have know more than one skinny person smell so flipping bad! So honestly eff off!

I agree with you on the part where she should get over his looks, but hey, fat people are the same as you, or anyone else, and it might not be their fault that they are overweight, they might have a health problem or something. Just because someone is different, or looks different, doesn't mean anything. They are probably great people once you get to know them better.

That happened to me before the pictures I saw of him looked really great then when we met in person he had no teeth and a hunchback. The pics sure as hell didn't show that. So even with pics watch out ; )

You talked to him for weeks JUST because he was hot, and have nothing in common with him? Or you enjoy talking to him and find him interesting but will cut off your friendship because he's unattractive? I fail to see how your life is ****** either way.
Twinklestar 0
YDI. Having a thing for someone online is one thing, but liking them just because they say they're hot is stupid. I don't imagine it was great conversation or anything given what he said after sending his pic.
Flutist 3
Just to say: Op I think you are shallow. I know some of the most attractive people who say they are fat, I know some fat people who say they are beautiful. But when you talk to them, its not about how pretty they are, its about how much they have changed my life. Friends are about the people who are willing to be there for you. You have just shown this guy, whomever he is, that because of the way he looks he isn't worth your time. You talked to him because he told you "i have a six pack and amazing arms"? But continued to even before you saw a picture. So either you want to make yourself seem superior by saying you are above him or you are judgemental? Maybe you have a real reason and you are lonely/desperate/horny and wanted someone hot to talk to your friends about? Who knows. But you had a chance to maybe show some other shy human being that he is better than his circumstances. This might be me thinking there is still hope in the world. But maybe, just maybe, he was fat because people put him down and he is honestly depressed. You can't help what you look like when you are born. You need to reevaluate the worth of a human.

#35 - STFU. I don't believe for a second you would talk to a guy who is as the OP says, "not good looking at all." You, like most people commenting here, just like to dump on people. I would be all wonderful and such if people didn't care about appearances, but that is not the way people are. Deal with it.
notsoordinary 0
OH STFU!!! you know darn well you wouldn't date someone that was overweight and extremely unattractive! your so full of it! You are just like all these other people who try to make others look bad when in real life they do the SAME THING! idiot!
notsoordinary 0
okay fatty!
Flutist 3
I'm not fat. And also, my exboyfriend would be described by some an unattractive. We dated. We only broke up because he moved.
Flutist 3
I don't appreciate you telling me who I would or wouldn't date. It is about the connection. If I met a hefty or "fluffy" guy and liked him, then we would date. It is a matter of meeting them. I am not saying Op needs to **** the guy, I am saying people need to stop railing on fat people because they are evil and stupid or some stupid shit like that.

Good argument but irregardless is not a word.
