Catfished

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I sent a guy that I like a lot a picture of myself. I'd got all dressed up sexy and did my make-up. He sent me a reply saying, "Your cat is fat." FML
Today, I had to explain to my friend that the hot girl he's been sending nudes to and cybering with for the past month is probably a bored, fat-as-fuck, balding male living in his mum's basement. The look on his face after I proved that "her" pictures were fake broke my heart. FML
Today, after months of talking to this guy on Instagram and convinced this was a sure thing, he wanted proof I was real and not catfishing him. I sent him a picture of me holding a paper with his username. He replied, “Sorry, I didn’t know you were a big girl. I need a healthy girl who takes care of herself.” FML
Today, I finally exchanged pictures with the woman I've been seeing online for some time now. She replied, saying "Thats not funny. Some people actually look like that." I sent my real picture, and thought I actually looked pretty good in it. FML
Today, the man of my dreams who I met online and have been exchanging messages with day and night for weeks asked the dreaded question: “Can you send me a full body pic?” It’s been 5 years since I had a guy hit me up. I weigh 300 lbs and look like a potato with legs. I don’t wanna lose him. FML
Today, I met a guy online. We talked all night long and hit it off amazingly. He told me he'd never felt that way about anyone else, and I agreed. He sent me a picture and he was gorgeous. I sent him one after he assured me he didn't care what I looked like. I haven't heard from him since. FML
Today, I asked a girl from Bumble for a full body pic. She was obese, so I told her it wasn’t gonna work. She then sent a video of her in real time looking slim and told me that picture was from when she was obese, and she'd sent that picture as a “test of my character” and she’s “better off without someone so judgy.” FML
Today, and for the 6th time, I sent a potential suitor a full body picture. I usually get ghosted or called a plethora of fatshaming names. This time around the guy told me, “Wow. I’d kill myself if I had that body.” I’ve been single for 4 years and no matter how hard I try to find love, this happens. FML
Today, I showed my boyfriend a picture of me in what I thought was a sexy skintight dress. He responded by saying "it's ok, I went through a pudgy stage too". The picture was from Saturday night. FML
Today, my boyfriend sent me a text that said, "I can't be seen with you anymore. You're too fat." FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

So this guy was some one you had never met or seen before... why would you just assume he was hot?!

Darwinian evolution - We look for those who appear to be fit and healthy (i.e. not overweight) because they are the mates with whom we will be able to populate the world and continue our species. Not such a bad thing in the overall scheme of the continuation of mankind.

Okay, so this "HOT" guy turned out to only be "hot" on the internet and in your mind. Once you see this person's real looks you're like, "OMG. He's hideous." I got news for you. You thought he was hot. In your mind he was sexy. And then when he turns out to not be your ideal man you decide... "Ew... I've been cybering with some fat guy. This is a FML moment." You are shallow. But did you send him a picture back. Because *laughs* I'd wager it wouldn't be one he'd want to show his friends either. Because if the only romance you can get is online you must be a hideous C.H.U.D. Or else... Like you've shown everyone here... A shallow, self-centered *****. FYL? No F-his life for having actually caring enough about you to send you a picture. Ugh... Internet ho's.

So what if he's not hot? Looks honestly don't matter. You may have heard that a lot, but it's true. Go for personality, not weight/looks. YDI.

That is retarded. I don't know what fairytale world you are from, but here in the real world we (as humans) base a lot on physical attraction. So its not "shallow" to think someone is not hot and not wanting to date them, even if their personality is great. That's what we call a "friend" here in the real world.

When I grow up? Please spare me the bullshit. Think of the way nature works. Males in most species have to flaunt and look good for the ladies. Its simple survival of the fittest. The one who looks the best will attract a female and continue its genes. The same thing applies to humans, since we are animals. Yes we are more complex than any animal. We need to have a mental connection as well. Not everyone considers their partner their friend. So saying that is useless. We base a lot around physical attractions and not personality. So its completely normal for someone to not want to date someone if they don't find them attractive. If they just like their personality, then they just become friends. People should have to feel uncomfortable or settle for someone just because they don't want to be shallow. There is no such thing as shallow, we are humans and its in human nature to want someone who you find attractive.

Did I ever say that I didn't think that the people I date are my friends? No, I stated that not everyone thinks like that. It's not wrong or shallow to judge someone on there looks. Its just human nature. People just need to get over themselves and accept the fact that the world is a harsh place.

Who are you to tell anyone what is right and wrong. That's for each person to find themselves. Just because you think its wrong doesn't make it wrong. For example, It's like me saying that gays are wrong, and that people shouldn't be gay. It would be wrong in my eyes, but it would be right to someone who thinks its right.

Haha I would just be like " ummm I'm not real. Bye"

And everyone else seriously your gonna sit her on your fat asses telling her that if the same thing happened to you that you would stay with that creeper. And obviously the guys doesn't have a great personality and she isn't being shallow if he said "Send me a picture so I can prove to my friends that your real" I mean seriously how the **** would YOU respond? And how do you know if she met the guy on a dating thing and he had a picture that wasn't him and was hott to her? And that why she was talking to him. **** you , geez everybody who comments on these things just ******* bag on the person. **** OFF

I met a guy online who isn't 'attractive' by most people's standards, but he never lied to me or said he was hot lol. He's since lost about 75 lbs and we've been happily married for 6 months. I agree it's about personality, and attraction comes with love. I probably wouldn't have stayed with him if he had lied about his looks (or anything), or if he wanted a pic to show it to his friends. Oh, and I think he's attractive, but it took some time.
