Today, a man proposed to me in classic style on one knee. Unfortunately, I have been telling this man for the last two months that I don't even want to date him. He thinks I'm playing hard to get and is not giving up. FML

Today, my boyfriend took me on a surprise date to an expensive restaurant. After the meal, he got down on his knee and proposed. We've only been dating for two weeks, so I said no. He just silently kept staring me in the eyes, no matter what I said or did. I ended up having to walk home. FML
Today, my boyfriend "proposed" to me. When we first started dating, he told me that he hated the concept of marriage and absolutely never wanted to go through with it. So I laughed and turned him down, obviously thinking it was just a joke. He was serious. FML
Today, after my girlfriend telling me for years that she would marry me in a heartbeat, I finally proposed. She said no. FML
Today, I proposed to my boyfriend. He laughed at me and said that proposing is a man's job, not a woman's. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed. Three hours later, he called me to tell me he was kidding. FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed. I fainted due to the excitement. He took it as a "no" and won't pick up my calls. FML
Today, my boyfriend got on one knee and started talking about how we met. Knowing what was coming, I started tearing up, absolutely sure he was going to propose. Just as I was about to say yes, he quickly stood up and yelled "HAH, JUST KIDDING". FML
Today, my boyfriend of two years proposed to me. Less than two minutes later, he decided he wasn't ready for the commitment. After I had already said yes. FML
Today, I asked out the man of my dreams. He's smart, attractive, and has a steady job. Imagine my surprise when he accepted. Then imagine my surprise when he followed up with, "Hah, just kidding. You're fucking BORING!" FML
Today, my boyfriend proposed to me by handing me a ring and saying, "Let's get this dumb shit over and done with." FML

Tell him to buy you a new Lexus and then you'll think about it. If he does it, tell him you think he's insane and you just don't see yourself spending the rest of your life with an insane person (but thank him for the car). If he doesn't do it, tell him he obviously doesn't really love you. Either way, you win. There's always a positive side to every bizarre situation.

Try being more clear with him. Why are you still talking to him after 2 months if you're not interested? Tell him you don't marry people you haven't dated yet. Ask him if he knows anything about you (like your middle name.. favorite food..) chances are he doesn't. Have you even told him you're not interested and not playing hard to get? Because some (not all) women DO play hard to get like this. Not YDI. Sadly there are too many guys (and girls) out there like this, unfortunatly :(

OP never stated that she talks to him or anything like that. Most likely he approaches her first and maybe she's too nice to be rude though in this kind of situation thats probably best course of action. Dont blame a girl for a guys actions unless youre implying guys cant think for themselves

You have to cut through his denial. Send him a letter of rejection without mincing words and copy the police; if you know any lawyers, ask them to do this; Nicely spoken words from you will not work. He is not rational. You would not be overreacting, just prudent and sensible. You do not have to be polite at this point and you may actually be in danger. You could also meet him in a public place and have someone or two people arrive to join you while you tell him you never want to see or speak with him again. Brief to the point and without discussion, then leave with your friends.

That sorta guy is so creepy. And chances are he knows very well that you are serious and not "just playing hard to get". Many guys make it seem like that is what they think, when in truth, they're just hoping that if they insist long enough, you'll either find it cute or fall for the act and date them anyway... (or that they'll annoy you into giving in, and then they'll have a chance.)

Agreed. If the guy is head over heals for this girl and she says "I want to be friends" that could translate to "I'm shy and want to move slow or get to know you better first..." Tell the guy to fsck off, you have nothing in common or point out the things you don't like about him. damn!
