Today, I fell asleep in class. Usually, people just sit still when asleep. Nope, not me. Not only had I been violently rocking and nodding my head, the teacher stopped class for everyone to see for 5 minutes as she made jokes. What woke me? The intense laughter followed by embarrassment. FML

hey im all for metal. and rock. and some rap. he just posts songs that go with the fml. and plus most metal songs are extremly hard to interpret and have alot of meanings...(i.e. slipknot metallica disturbed ect.)
Personally, i have nothing against metal. I listen to a bit of it. What i despise are the people who solely listen to metal and reject all other kinds of music. And the_coon is correct, my song MUST go with the FML.

You are no true metal fan if you reject a band for its age. You're being no better than the kiddies who claim they're metal fans when all they listen to is Disturbed and Slipknot.
A true metal fan likes a band or musician regardless of the band's age or their popularity and such. Really, that's how any true music fan should be. Use your own judgement instead of finding an excuse to disregard what they do.
That being said, I am no Slipknot fan, Disturbed is okay, and I like some old Metallica songs.
I also appreciate Ensiferum, System of a Down, Sonata Arctica, Nightwish, Wintersun, and Rammstein.
I like songs from Stratovarius, Dark Tranquillity, Quiet Riot, Marilyn Manson, DragonForce, Twisted Sister, 403 Forbiddena, Maximum the Hormone, Breaking Benjamin, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Within Temptation, Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne, Dream Theater, Papa Roach, Royal Hunt...
(If you'd like to argue with me on the "metal"-ness of any of these bands, let it be known that I just used Wikipedia for "confirmation" on if they are or were metal)
Won't claim I'm some huge metalhead, I know many of the bands mentioned are fairly well-known. Just saying, I like a lot, always open for more, and don't judge, therefore I find myself a "true" metal fan.
And if it weren't for rock, metal wouldn't exist. Many of the first metal bands double(d) as rock bands.
Plus, I love rock too. Well, classic rock. Not a lot of modern rock bands really appeal to me...
As for the user in question, I never read his posts, but I still find him amusing in that he must like music and/or be really clever to think of a song for (nearly) each post. Certainly a change from the usual.

"Metal" is an all-encompassing term for the genre. Under Metal, we have Death Metal.
You listen to Metal, specifically Death Metal.
And I did not Wiki them all; I do listen to them, and I just double checked on a few is all.
Breaking Benjamin on ocassion falls under Alternative Metal, which appears to be the kind you dislike anyway so of course you wouldn't know.
Of the bands/musicians I listed, there are these SUBgenres of Metal: Power, Symphonic, Folk, Experimental, Death, Black, Viking, Heavy, Melodic, Alternative, Nu, Progressive, and so on.
There is more to Metal than your little mind's world. But, I am not surprised you can not think beyond your own boundaries, as you automatically assume everything under Rap contains topics pertaining to women, drugs, and money.
You are also under the mistaken assumption that anything I type here takes any significant amount of my time or effort.

One time, I was unconciously fidgeting like crazy.
Literally, it appeared fairly psychotic. So much that the teacher felt the need to point it out to the entire class.
Also, being anemic with hypoglycemic tendencies, sometimes I find it difficult to stay awake too. Not saying I believe you are like that, but saying YDI solely for sleeping would be fairly hypocritical.
YDI for either not getting enough sleep or not taking care of yourself properly so that you stay awake.
But also FYL for whatever may keep you from doing that, and for the teacher making fun of you.
