Today, I had a stressful day at work and decided to go in the jacuzzi. I hadn't used it for a year, so it was a little dirty. After I cleaned it, filled it up, and jumped in, I pressed the jets. Immediately, thousands of dead moths shot out at full speed towards me. FML

Obviously you didn't clean out the jacuzzi well enough if there are moths shooting out of the jets.

Even if you can't clean the jets, you could have always ran the jets before getting in.

either way, if you knew it was dirty, why wouldn't you clean it? sorry, even if it was a little dirty, i would clean it, since you're going to be sitting in that dirt or it will be floating around you.

There are a lot of real words in the english language. That doesn't mean you should watermelon them in every sentence.

Yes, watermelon is a real word. However, it is a noun, not a verb like you used it. Also, proceeded is perfectly acceptable in the way it was used. Just because you're bitter and can't appreciate persons with advanced vocabularies, doesn't mean they should cease to use them. Get over it.

sicckk. and well i know at least in my old jacuzzi, the jets weren't the easiest thing to clean. so i probably wouldn't have done it if i wanted to use it right away.

I work at a pool place. If it is that dirty you want to shock the jacuzzi first and then DRAIN IT. Reason being is that moths sound harmless but not Folliculitis. Basically bacteria that are trapped in teh stagnant water multiply and invade your hair follicles when you turn on teh jets. Seeing that warm water = opens your pores more, more likelihood of getting it. So make sure you clean that thing before you use it or you'll be going to a dermatologist to get an expensive cream to take care of it.

Uh, because Jacuzzi makes two different types of spas. Indoor bathtub styles with jets (they drain) and also outdoor fully contained hot tub units.

Plus I've seen many of those inside fill up tubs have lovely black crap shoot out of the jets when first started. So you're telling me that you'd rather sit your @$$ in such tub without killing anything with chlorine? Have at it. I've seen a number of cases of infected hair follicles and spa lung than I care to remember.

that is incredibly vile. once, i had used a jacuzzi bathtub that i thought i had cleaned well enough after a long period on non-use, and when i turned the jets on, a ton of black flakes of old soap came shooting out. and i thought that was horrendous. i definitely have sympathy for you.

Moths wouldn't be in the jets, unless your jacuzzi isn't near any outside lights, which I highly doubt. They'd be attracted the the lights (which you WOULD have near a jacuzzi), and not go near it. Also, you'd have it covered, anyways.
