Today, I was sprinting to the bus stop trying to beat the bus. It pulled next to me and honked, startling me off the edge of the road. My foot slipped, I went tumbling, roadrashing my leg. The bus driver stopped, opened the door, and yelled "I was just letting you know this is a training bus." FML

haha, yeah. the bus was coming down the hill to the stop on the corner, and i was running my ass off (in a mini skirt, to boot) to beat it there. it runs once an hour and was 15 minutes early... it would have been a close race had it been the "real" bus, thats for sure. as it was, it had a few bus people in training, like a rolling classroom, who were all craning to my side of the bus to get a good look. im sure they learned something from the mishap. it would be a shame if they didnt.
my pride was definitely hurt more than my leg.

lol, clearly the bus driver thought the OP was sprinting in order to catch the bus....what else would he think when he sees someone sprinting behind him? especially a newbie bus driver at that....so he was being nice in pulling over to let the OP know that the bus wasn't in service and that he was just a trainee....
or at least thats my take on it......

That sucks, I hate clumsiness. It also sucks that really he was just trying to be nice and it failed miserably. For future reference though, most bus drivers won't stop, or wait, if you're running to the bus stop in order to catch it on time, they have a schedule to keep.

No you moron. It's about TRAINING a bus on how to BE a bus.
When the bus comes off the assembly line, it may not know what it's job is going to be.... may be a school bus, city passenger bus, a tour bus, luxury travel bus, Greyhound bus, omnibus, rebus, rhombus, strombus, syllabus, or a urubus.
Thus, it must go through a training period to know how to accommodate it's lifetime utility function.
Any other questions, just ask your mother.

i wasnt chasing it... i was racing it. to the bus stop. if i get there first, it has to stop for me. if it gets there first, technically, they could bypass me cuz i wasnt *at* the stop.
i probably did deserve it.. for some kind of karma owed to whatever gods dish this stuff out.

Thanks Leafhead. I am confidant that if you follow all my posts you might not remain loyal. But while it lasts, I appreciate it. I keep coming back for two reasons. One, to respond to about 30% of the FMLs, and Two, to respond to the 70% of posters to the FMLs.
