Today, I got in the shower, washed my hair and shaved because I wanted to look great for a big date. I got out, brushed and dried my hair and spent an hour putting it up in the perfect hairstyle. Running late, I quickly put on my new dress, looked down and realized i had only shaved one leg. FML

OP: It takes four seconds! Swing your leg up on the sink, wet it and use a bit of soap, shave quick and wipe it down with a wet wash cloth. IT'll hardly put you one minute behind and even if you miss a spot it's better than the whole leg being hairy.
agree with #7. it doesn't even take a minute and is not going to spoil your hair. so what's the problem?

You should just start using an epilator. Use it couple times a month and you are hair free, no worries.

agree with #7/8... not really an FML since it's very easily fixable and it's not like your date saw you before you realized it/had the opportunity to fix it. More of just a realization that you're apparently way too easily distracted.

I hope you have an electric razor! Or you could've just put on pantyhose, then the hair isn't as noticeable.

Here's the real problem here: "running late". You knew you had a big date and deliberately set out to prepare...

Most guys don't care. I know girls in general are really freaked out about hair on their legs, but out of all the guys out there, how many of you would really hold it against a girl.
If it was me I would have just made a joke about it. It's just not a big deal. Besides it's spring and most girls wear tights under their dresses.

#29 why is it a bad idea telling her to shave her leg quickly? should people tell her to take a luxurious bath and exfoliate her leg for an hour before shaving? It takes like 2 minutes tops to shave a leg....wet a wash cloth and moisten, apply some shaving cream and razor away. Unless youre some Amazonian woman with 5 ft long legs theres no reason why it would take you more than a few minutes to shave one leg.
#33 and hey not all us Italians are hairy! Im a blond Italian with actually almost no leg hair and the hair I do have is all pale blond. Granted not all Italians are this way but not all Italians are super hairy beasts either. Im pretty lucky because I can go over 2 weeks without shaving my legs and not even my boyfriend can tell.
This isnt a FML because its something that could easily be fixed...now if she realized while on the date what had happened then it would be a different story.

@#33: I know it only takes a few minutes. Still, you tend to mess things up when you're rushing. Would you want someone to rush and give you a haircut or trim? I'm no Amazonian, either; I'm black and the hairs on my leg are extremely fine, so they take about a month to fully grow out and it's hard to see unless you get close. STILL, no one could pay me to rush a shaving job.
