Jingle bells

By LonelyThisChristmas - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom - Birmingham

Today, my stepmum told me that the Christmas dinner she is cooking tomorrow will cost £25 a head. I laughed because I thought she was joking. She wasn't. Now I'm spending Christmas alone. FML

£25 for what I'm assuming is a family Christmas dinner is just ******. You're better off not going.

...well, it's the best way to spend it, no drama!

Assumptions, they backfire in harshways. Make sure they are joking before hand dude. YDI

Right, because thinking your parent is joking when they say they're charging FAMILY to eat on Christmas is just such a terrible assumption and that OP totally deserves to spend Christmas alone because of it. -.- Get out of here you grinch.

Alright, chill your bones. I realized right as I posted the comment that I misread the fml, in the excitement of the holidays I'm basically high off caffeine as these are really the only times I drink soda. I'm human, humans make mistakes.

You just told somebody to chill their bones because they posted a comment as harsh as yours. You assumed you read the FML correctly, and it backfired in harshways. Make sure to reread before hand (*beforehand), dude. YDI

Yeah, humans make mistakes. But that doesn't warrant calling someone out and telling them they deserve to be alone. You can make a mistake without being a jerk.

She's gonna get visits from three ghosts tonight...

It's okay. Loneliness is far better than resorting to cannibalism, OP.

Conscript some zombies and supply all the heads she could possibly want. She'll be paying you by the end of the meal.

I'm confused. Does she expect you to pay her $25 dollars to eat? Or did she mean each person was eating $25 worth of food? I'm assuming it's the former.

spend it with your magical, clothed singing woodland friends, Cindarelly. (p.s. seriously though, better alone than literally spending Christmas with "family". I'd have been like sending a family email being like potluck at my place for people who don't want to pay for a family party - I mean 25 pounds wtf - I'll supply Ham/Turkey/something substantial that you throw in the oven. Of course, I if you have a family group email thing I'd take out your step mom's email.. honestly though was this get together involving any of your family or just your dad's .. because that could say something even more troubling if it's only his/your family..)

Sounds like something a relative of mine has done.

So 50 for each guy and 25 for each girl
