Today, I started my new health kick with granola for breakfast, salad for lunch, and hitting the gym after work. I was so proud of myself, until I couldn’t take it anymore and binged at McDonald’s. My health kick lasted 11 hours. FML

Healthy eating isn't just about eating less. You also need to eat smart too. It seems like you cut too many calories at once. No protein, no snack to help stave off hunger.

Losing weight is all about watching your serving size, calorie intake and portion control. If you want to eat at McD's every day, as long as you stay within your caloric intake for the day, you'll lose weight. I had McD's once a week for six months and lost 40 lbs. I watched my serving sizes, and my caloric intake. Size 22 to size 12.

When I was watching my calories I would get a kids meal when I needed my “fix” it helped me stay in range and kept me from binging. You got this!!!

Everyday is an opportunity to do it right. I also have trouble making the right eating habits in the evening. I also want to add that granola isn't really health food. It is fool of sugar. Might as well eat a candy bar.

Granola is not good diet food. Next time, see if you can make your kick last 12 hours. Maybe by 2022 you can stay healthy for a whole day!

Don’t be too hard on yourself OP. Take it one hour at a time if you need too. You totally got this! You will make healthier choices your bitch!!!

OP, perhaps instead of beating yourself up and saying I only made it 11 hours, look at it as you made it through 11 hours this first attempt. there's a lot of people offering good advice here about what may have gone wrong in this first attempt of yours. Figure out what did it work for you, change it to something that does work for you, and try again. slow and steady wins the race

This doesn't have to be the end of your health kick, but maybe you should talk to someone about it because granola for breakfast and a salad for lunch isn't particularly healthy. Granola has a lot of sugar and while it isn't unhealthy, it's not a health food. Salad (especially if you meant the big plates of leafy greens without much else) isn't a whole lot of calories and almost no protein, you need more than that to go to the gym. See if you can get a nutritionist on your health plan, they can help you come up with an actual healthy diet.

It’s ok. But honestly you may wanna try a different healthy choice. For breakfast have two eggs, a meat and a cup of coffee Lunch have a salad, a meat and a fruit Dinner have a meat, vegetable and fruit. Drink plenty of water and if you manage to have McDonald’s because you feel hungry try again tomorrow

Trying to get healthy is hard my attempts last a day, two at the most when I’m really motivated. Lol

How many carbs did you intake? Carbs, protein, and fat are most of what a fast-food craving is about. Up healthy versions of all that, and get some Boca burgers for the next fast-food craving--they're all vegetable, but still have lots of proteins and veggie oils, so it'll keep you on track without any problems. (And try baked potato fries, or sweet potato fries. Oven-baking makes things a lot healthier.)
