Today, our new boss showed up for his first day of work. I thought I'd seen it all, but he demands that we say "Hail to the King" every time he passes through the office. When I called HR about it, the guy on the other end told me to "man up and deal with it". FML

Nice boss ya got there. But seriously, just try to suck it up. If his narcissistic behavior gets intolerable, however, I'd start looking for a new job. I hope it gets better, for your sake! Good luck. (:

Don't talk about the king that way!

I need a boss like this. Mine gave me like ten different tasks to do that involved me driving to the other side of the city I live in and back in all around the course of an hour, then complained because I wasn't quick enough. I live in LA

Your comment sounds like it could be an FML. You should submit it. :D

Did you man up and deal with it?

does he make you wash his chariot too?

well my take is... man up and deal with it. I this economy if the worst thing u have to complain about at ur job is having to say hail to the king then ur just being a whiny bitch. quit and go get a job where u have to say "do you want fries with that" instead.

I could tell from your post that you're using your mom's computer in her basement and that you're a jobless freak of nature...

This economy may suck, but no one person should have the right to make another feel inferior. If this guy is really trying to make his employees feel inferior, he has no right no matter his qualifications, experience, or whatever he has that got him the title of "boss". If, by any chance at all, this is supposed to be humorous, I fail to see it as the OP also does. It is inappropriate for the workplace. There are standards that need to be upheld, as well as workplace etiquette.

At least it wont be like one of those awkward days when everybody sits around and does nothing. You'll have something to do. :)
